HDS units require 1 xducer for the 2d ...and a second xducer for SideScan/DownScan ...
Transducer Shield and Saver makes tandem brackets for the TM...
Transducer Shield and Saver - See More Fish, Catch More Fish! - TS-LSS2-3D to fit LSS2 structure scan transducer
The Lowrance guys will be along shortly for suggestions ...

Yes the 83/200 is a good td for your tm. With a Touch you can use the td from an Elite 7 DSI and have both down scan and 2d in one transducer. This is the route a lot of Touch users have taken.
The only way to have side scan is with a LSS 1 or 2 transducer. On the touch the structure scan is built in. Non Touch units will need the box and td. The LSS 1 or 2 will only do down or side scan, no 2d.
The LSS-2 will handle DI/SI. You will need the the Skimmer or the E7 TD for 2D.
This is my set-up like Justin was talking about:
HDS 5m Gen2 (non touch) at console for GPS only.
HDS 7 Gen2 (non touch) at console for 2D, DI, SI. These units are NMEA & ENET together( map sharing & Point 1 sharing) and use the Skimmer & LSS2 transducers at the transom.
HDS Gen2 7 Touch at the TM using the Elite 7 TD for 2D/ DI.
This set-up has worked well for me.
Hope this helps.
I have a 9 Touch on the bow and a 9 Touch on the console. My Fortrex has the US2 option of a 2D transducer built in.
On the bow unit, I have the Spotlight transducer so I only have DI, 2D and Spotligh. (no SI). For the console I have the 2D skimmer and the LSS mounted on the transom.
If I were doing it again, I'd replace the spotlight transducer with another LSS2 on the trolling motor BUT, due to the size of the LSS2 I would lose the built in US2 2D transducer. I believe there is a trolling motor mount available that would allow me to mount both the LSS2 and a skimmer, giving me SI, DI and 2D on both the bow and console.
I am not a fan of the spotlight.

Sorry for the slow reply. I'm usually only on here early mornings but, glad to help.
You'll love the 9Touch on the bow. I'm guessing you plan to just get the HDI transducer to mount on your tm?
On your HDS gen 1 you are using the LSS1 with the separate box that the transducer plugs into and then an Ethernet cable from that box to your HDS 10?
IF that is correct, I'm not certain you can also run the LSS1 to the new bow 9 Touch since you need a direct connection from the LSS1 transducer. The old box
is no longer needed. You might be able to hook it up via Ethernet but I don't know if that will work. Call David at Shut-up-and-fish, he'll know.
PS: wait and get the new Gen 3 Touch....I like it a lot better than my Gen 2's.
You can keep your LSS-1 connected to the LSS-1 module and active across ethernet. You will get a great image this way. Some say better than what you can get with an LSS-2 plugged directly into the touch. What ever you do don't buy the LSS-1 adapter and connect to the touch directly. The "adapter" is actually a filter. I doubt you will be satisfied with the image with this approach.
You will love the touch.
Gen 3s are coming out. I have seen a 9" but it was a R and D model used for testing. Pretty awesome. The 3s are much faster, brighter, better screen response, new touch programming, chirp, wifi, extra set of buttons for those glove days.
Good luck on your choice.
A buddy of mine installed a new 7 Touch Gen 3 two weeks ago, purchased from David at Shut-up-and-fish. But, I now understand it is the only size currently shipping for some unknown reason.
Having two gen 2 units, I definitely like the Gen 3 better. Not sure it is any faster but, the extra buttons are really nice.
One thing we learned is that you need to do a screen calibration that is not in the installation manual. Simple to do but, highly recommend doing it
You are probably correct on shipping of Gen3 products. The Gen 3 9" I played with was a R and D unit. Last I heard lowrance was still looking for a screen for their 12" locators. Lowrance does not want to make the same mistake they did with the Gen2 12" touch screens.
You did not see a speed difference? Hard to believe. Were you playing with mapping and other high processor factor items?
Yes I think. I am not sure on the sonar for the gen 1 but if it is like the gen2 you will have to use network sonar to get a sonar picture. So if you want the same sonar as locator "X" both locators would have to have network sonar active. Structure scan would be run on the ethernet as well. You will just have to choose it.
i have done very little with gen1. To make sure I am not leading you astray I will read up and get back to you.
Thanks everyone for replies!
With this setup how do I get to use sonar on the bow thru my tm us2 transducer? I guess separate it having sonar at console from Stern and sonar up front from tm when it's deployed and fishing in the bow? I have sonar cord to plug into it but not sure if it's reading stern or bow.
I've got a hds 10 gen 1 at counsole with lss1 transducer and sonar transducer mounted on Stern.
I just bought a hds 7 gen 2 for bow. I'm wanting to Ethernet it from console for structure scan off stern lss1 but use my us2 sonar on power drive v2 when deployed.
Is lowrance transducer mounted to tm better than built in us2?
I use the US2 in my Fortrex along with a LSS-1 on it. I have interference from the TM but can live with it after installing the HB choke. It seems some people have more interference problems than others, you have to try it to see. I can see a 1/16oz jig with the US2 so they work well, the Lowrance may get rid of or lessen interference though.
The vertical lines are in the 2D are interference, you can also see it in the downscan. The clear section in the center of the downscan side is when the tm was off.
