Check the bridge just south of Caddo Lake dam on hwy 169. Its been about 15 yrs ago last time I was there but I think you can still put in.:dono Good luck let us know how you do :popcorn
I do not remember the highway number but there is a very nice long concrete ramp on the bayou If I remember right it is on the road just North of the Sportsman's Depot.
I had no idea that was there, but do see it on Google Maps. As you said, it's nearly to the spillway at Caddo though, so depending on where you were looking to fish on TMB, it may not be an optimal launch. I wonder how fishing is below the spillway itself? Anyone ever caught anything there?
Bear, if you follow Hwy 1 North to Hwy 169 and turn right, follow the road and you'll see the launch after you cross TMB. Water looks low when the google map image was taken.
Yeah I was always wondering if there are spots to launch in the city. The banks by the casino is way to high to get a small boat down with gear. But on the plus you may not have to worry about boat wake that far up the bayou.
Thanks for all the information.
Year's ago I large mouth and striper bass fished TMB with good success .you might do a search I seen some post on TMB before I do know there are lay downs all over the place should be really good
Anybody knows what the average depth in TM?
i do not know the ave depth but its plenty deep for crappie and bass BIG cats too:highfive
Went down by the Sam's town railroad bridge this morning and the bank is actually pretty flats. So it's possible also to put in at that location too.:biggrin
I've seen a lot of people fishing down there beside the bridge on the parkway. If you have something light enough to carry it'd be great for trolling around. Seems plenty deep in that area and a lot of structure if I remember right. Cajun Dave would be able to tell you more, but his puter is out of commission.
Hope you catch some! It's pretty muddy right now.
Went to the Hwy 173 bridge today and the gate was locked for the launch. Does anyone know why?
My bad, the launch is on Hwy 169.
I'm new here on cdc but I drive by the TMB on Hwy 169 everyday. I can stop in there tomorrow and see if it's open.
Hey there HS87....:welcome to the best fishing forum on the web.....you will meet a lot of super nice guys here.....plenty of them up in your area.....why don't you start a thread introducing yourself to the folks in the Louisiana forum and tell us a little about yourself.....
again, welcome....
Sure Ill go do that, thanks for the welcome. happy to be here.
Hey Fellows, The launch at 12 mile off of 169 is a real nice launch. It is also an entry point for Soda Lake WMA, so be sure to fill out one of those self checking forms when you launch. I took my boat up the bayou right after Thanksgiving gin up to where the new I-49 crosses and that was at around 12 miles.........!2 Mile Bayou is really 24 mile Bayou! LOL John
Thanks, I was really surprised to see Boathouses and new ramps on Private Property going up 12 mile. There was even a house being built at about the 8 or 10 mile mark from the Red River. Don't know who has the House or the private ramps.......but I don't like them! LOL Soda Lake WMA is off of Hwy 1 and runs all the way up to 169. I have mostly fished the Bayou for Cats. If you see a 20' Xpress (Camo) with a Big Rod Holder on the back and a 150 Yamaha that would be me. Stop and give a Shout! John
