Prickly pear tunas

Gathered some more this evening after we got home from work. Serious jelly before long:

Randy are you sure that isn't a poisonous dart frog and a boa constrictor. HaHa. Looking forward to the jelly pictures.

Nice thanks for the pictures. You want to trade some jelly? I have never had the prickly pear jelly.

We can do that Dwayne, waiting to gather another bucket for a batch to make. Do you have figs?

Don't have any figs, I have mayhaw, blackberry, and a few muscadine jars.

I have blackberry out the wazoo. Twenty-four jarred up with another six gallons of whole berries in the freezer. Trade them with a fella up north who does is own maple syrup from his trees (the real thing). I have become spoiled big time with his product. The muscadine will work, put some aside if you would.

Really? Didn't know that - very good. I figured the Satsuma would win the prize.

I am about to wear my Google bar out. I grew up in the country and we had livestock and a garden and I never hear of any of that stuff except the muscadine. I got tuna in my freezer, but it would not make very good jelly. :Rofl

Randy, next time we meet bring a jar of blackberry and I'll bring you a jar of figs. I'm talking preserves of course. Our figs were scarce this year, but we put up a few jars. The pecan trees look good and full.:) I have been eating cherry butter lately. Picked it up at a country stand in Michigan. Was lost on a back road, but worked out good. Should have seen the size of the cabbage(about 1 ft diameter) I got to go cut myself. Also picked up some mater's and corn. Ended up giving the cabbage to my wife's niece in Nashville, whom I met for the first time. I will post the results of what she cooked. Unfortunately we had already headed home. She calls this Amish stuffed cabbage rolls. Remember that's one head of cabbage. Attachment 174787
