You're always good for a good laugh ol buddy!!
yes
Some of us believe there are fall patterns.
I've been reading as much as I can about fall patterns and I'm on information overload. I know Springhill Duckman started a thread about it quite awhile back but didn't get much of a response.
My fall patterns are the same as my spring patterns :banghead(not very good). Even to the point of a bobber and jig:fish up shallow like spawning fish. Of course, like spring, it changes:Doh: daily/hourly. Keep moving till you find them Jumping Jacks Icon,,,maybe your spawning areas might be best place to start. Get ready:dono to change!! <*)}}}><
Yeah CC, that shallow pattern can be HAWG city or not. I will just go creepy crawling the mid-depth breaks and just snatch up some eaters.:cheers2
Don't give up on dipping trees just yet. Try and find stuff close to drop offs any thing that goes for 6-8 fow to 12-15fow is a good place to start. But like Chat said get ready to move around a lot. Choke points are another area I would look at like on Hillsdale the bridge coming out of little bull arm as the fish move from the up arm to the main lake to winter they all pass through there.
Tried shallow last night at OSFL, they aren't there yet. Of course that whole lake is shallow!!! We caught 6 crappie, 2 were keepers. I think Wiggy pulled all the crappie out of that lake!!
Here is a big El Dorado girl we caught in the trees a few nights ago. You have to go very slow and fish like there is a nice one on every tree. This time of year, we catch bigger fish on trees but not to many. I also stroll the rocks a lot.

Shallow brush is were I have been find them at. The 10 - 20 foot range has been good with the better quality on the deeper stuff or down in the lower part of the shallow stuff. Solid advice from all, what works one day will have you stumped the next.
That's where I found them yesterday at hillsdale. They were under lay down trees and brush where the water was 6-10 feet deep. I had to taunt them like my kitty cat, but they'd hit minnows.
Appreciate the responses everyone, keep them coming!!!
Minnow bite at Melvern. Not many and hard to find. But some. No really big fish. Just 10.5 to 11 inches. Most in brush 10 to 20 ft of water. Chief and I cleaned 15 after 5 hours of fishing. Mostly early morning bite after 0930 or so could not get a bite.
Fall fishing still has its tough days. :banghead
Fished El Dorado last night. Left home wind was out of the south, got to the lake it was out of the north, small storm just missed the lake and the wind switched to the east. Fished every kind of cover, from deep trees to shallow trees, channels, rocks, brushpiles, with minnows, without minnows. Finally fished some old faithful brushpiles at the end of the evening and finally caught a couple keepers and a couple dinks. :cheers2 Brush was in the 8-12ft range.
Sounds like my trip Wednesday night.
Since i haven't jabbed any in awhile...............

I thought maybe more Larry the cable guy sleeveless style.
This thread has gotten my mind wondering of different locations that I haven't ever tried this time of year now just need to find the time to get there.
This is a fun time of year to go try new lakes as well. I love fishing smaller state a city lakes since the fish are starting to get their feed bag on right now, its a great time to try new places as well.
