Love watching those dudes, some of the males are mean sons of guns!
Them two fighting look just like the ones around the house. Them little guys are sure territorial but fun to watch.
Ours have backed off the last week or so, some of them may have come your way!!
90% of ours have left. Was feeding a gallon a day, probably put the feeders up after they empty this round.
I've got some large bottles, filling 8 every other day, about 2 gallons of food. They will get in my face as I'm filling a bottle. I don't know if it's to say thank you or hurry up old man. Debbie has watched about 20 in the front yard while I see about the same in the backyard.
Those are some quick little rascals. Love watchin em feed at those feeders.
We have 10 or so this year. I remember after hurricane Katrina hit the coast, we had more than we could feed.
I only had 3 daily the month of August. Sept. 2nd. a dozen or so showed up. I have 6 feeders up now. The last couple of years I haven't had them like years past. One year I had out 13 feeders and had trouble keeping them filled.
Title threw me off.....
Be nice
I've only got one feeder and just a few birds.
Hard count of 15 tonight.
got about 50. A couple of years ago I would fill up 8 big feeders at 7 each day. At 2 I had to go back and fill them again. about 3-4 pounds of sugar a day. Too much work keeping a dozen feeders full. now just do 4. I find the females to be as domineering as the males. Earlier they tried to run everyone off. Now I will have 5-6 on a feeder with another 5-6 hovering behind them waiting their turn. neighbor found a couple of nests in a bush with teeny tiny eggs. well, shells where they hatched.
I heard on the radio the other day that it is illegal to have bird feeders in Mississippi now. Unintentional result of new law designed to keep people from baiting their hunting land.
