I used to play in rock and roll bands. I have really bad tinnitus caused by that. I also have a pretty bad hearing loss (which usually goes along with tinnitus), for which I have to wear hearing aids in both ears. My tinnitus sounds like a field full of insects on a warm summer evening, along with random clickings and buzzings. The hearing aids help mask the tinnitus during the day. At night I use a fan to sleep to help cover up the sound. I also have a sound maker that makes white noise (kind of like the sound of rain) that helps cover it up, which I take with me if I am going to stay at a hotel or something.
Did your tinnitus happen suddenly??? If so, you need to see a doctor, as it could be the sign/symptom of something else besides being noise induced. Some medications can cause it and some medical conditions other than exposure to loud sounds can cause it.
