nice fish, mine is 14.5,caught last week.
If you're talkin' length. I caught a 17" on Table Rock you could read a paper through. Didn't even go 2 lbs.
Weight
Caught a 3.17# on Grenada. Had a to cheat and go to Mississippi to get a monster.
I have heard of 18 inc crappie caught through the ice on the Mississippi River, but have never seen one that big. trying to find out how long crappie get and what my fellow c.com anglers see (or catch). I realize crappie can vary in weight depending upon food, season (spawn) and where caught. Length to me indicates age and growing conditions.( not sure). (
I cant beat 15 1/2 I've had three this length !
I caught this 16"er this spring on Cave Run Lake in eastern Ky. I caught an 18"er 20 years ago in the same area of the lake.
Some 18 incher's but I was cheating fishing down here in MS on Nader, we have caught several over 16 this summer pulling cranks and "heard" tell of a 19.5 caught on a crank several weeks ago, didn't see it so I cant confirm it but if they thought it was that big then it was a good one.
16.5 twice. One in sippi, one in Bama

15 and 3/4 for me, caught at twain. several over 15, though. once, while fishing twain in october, my brother had one that was bigger than any crappie that I have ever seen. he got it to the side of the boat and it was laying sideways at the surface and he tried to lift it in the boat rather than waiting for a net. that fish was a real tank and Ryan was one mad mambajamba when that jig tore loose! I think 18 inches is a very conservative guess for that fish.
Mine is 18".... It was a pig crappie from
Granada.....
One day about 3 years back we had 4 that touched or broke the 17 inch line. And one was close to the line.
I've had a few 18's. My heaviest one so far is 3.20. It was 17 inches long with a 17 inch girth
9.75" @ Smithville. It was a hoss!!
9.75 but I had to borrow it from Joe.............. No really 11 in.
17.5 farm pond by my house
I've caught 3 161/2 inchers but can't get a 17 yet, but my grandson caught a nice 17 inch black.
If I told you all how big mine was OSS would just say I was fibbin' or say it sounded tooo fisheeee :fish
yep your wife said you were always lying about the length of things..........
17.5 at nader this spring
16 for me, came out of a strip pit.
16" for me from the only lake with shorter fish than Smithville....that would be Watkins Mill! And I think Joedog may be talking about cumulative length on that 9.75...as in, it took several placed end to end to make it that long. Of course, he doesn't use the old tried and true method of dipping his jigs in 91 octane either:banghead:banghead
18 3/8 out of the smithville reservoir
19.5 inch for me back in the home state of MN ice fishing on Upper Red Lake in 2008. It was 2.7lbs, mounted at my parents with 4-18's from the lake my parents live on in Itasca County, MN. State record there for black crappie is 21 incher that was 5lb.
