Went out on the Mississippi River to do some looking around. Took a few shots while I was out there. These first 3 were taken behind a rock dike (jetty). Note the sand piled up on the left side where the water piled it up on the down stream side.
In the 2nd shot on the top right, I'm not sure if that was a dolphin or a shark! I'm just glad it didn't jump in the boat like the carp!
In this one, I was in the main part of the river just out of the main channel along a sandbar. I have no idea what that is in the area I have circled. Any clues??
Nice looking images. This past spring I saw on the 2d what I thought was a 200 pound fish in Center Hill Lake....LOL It gave a huge return. Did not have my si or di screen up at the time...only the 2d. Turned out it was a beaver...LOL. Whatever the si image is showing it is big that's for sure.

And here's the last 2. The first one shows what I interpret as a log on the left side. Strange to me that a log would be there as the current is very swift in the section of river I was in. My boat was headed into the current and the picture shows the way the current has shaped the sand on the bottom.
The last picture shows what I figured to be fish on the right side. I was correct. It was "jumping" carp and I found that out when I made another pass a little closer to the sand bar and disturbed them! LOL
I haven't encountered any of those yet...and hope I don't since I fish out of a kayak.

In your first pic post, 3rd pic down. Did you determine what kind of fish was in that pic. There r alot, and im hoping they are catfish. Im ready to start targeting the slimers, and need to know if they gonna show up on my graphs. lol I hope they arent asain carp. Those things are everywhere!

Slab backs you are correct. Nose was in the current. Those fish were down where the current would roll over them
