Does anyone know if the dam at harris break was ever repaired? I heard it was completed last year but the old timer i ran into said they didnt have the money to fix it properly and likewise the lake level was low again last winter winter.
Thanks

Clay - it was fixed properly and has been holding water just fine. There has been a little evaporation. Next time ask me instead of the old timer. You have my number. Sometimes old timers don't know the facts and just speculate.
I do this all the time and it works well. "Speculation is the grease placed on the bearings down at the rumor mill". (bet you ain't never seen that quote before) Speculation is cheap, fun, and helps to amuse all us older generation folks. "Never underestimate the power of a Speculating Geezer." (2 originals in one day. I'm on a roll)
Definition of speculation is good.
I'll remember to not speculate about D10's ole dams, he appears to be a mite testy about the subject.:Rofl
I know Clay personally. That's why I was giving him a hard time.
Just pokin a little, didn't mean to cause trouble.:biggrin
I'll speculate that I'm gonna catch some crappie in the not to distant future.
If I don't get to go fishing soon - I'm gonna have a speculation!
Or maybe it's a cove rush. All the above would qualify.
I'm getting me "a mean willy" (say this backwards) plan together. It is gonna involve 18 poles and a cast net. Is cast netting close fishermen legal?
I'm just say in!
Has this thread been officially declared hi-jacked yet?
I speculate it has been.
you guys are a blast
Wowsers this thing has gone viral in a hurry:popcorn
On a serious note (I'm assuming this is possible), last November Harris Brake was probably 2 feet below normal winter floodpool and the problem is the lower level makes a lot of the docks too shallow to hold fish. Having fished there over 20 years I recall many excellent fall trips jiggin docks and brush in front of the docks and I'm wondering if there is a chance I will see the lake back to that level again this year.
Thanks for all you do Matt. Its hard for me to go gold rushin cause i love fishin friday afternoons but traffic from LR goin north on 430 is terribly congested and has me lookin west for answers.
One thing that everyone has to remember is that we have to let water out in the Fall for the WMA. This causes the lake to be lower during the winter. Depending on how much water is needed in the WMA determines how much the lake is drawn down. There is no way around this because Federal Wildlife money was spent to create Harris Brake Lake. Basically Harris Brake Lake was created to flood the WMA. It is what it is.
