participated once last year in the tournament. one reason i think they don't have high participation is because if you have never fished it before the guys in it are kind of stuck up and don't want to talk to newcomers. its all about having a little fun and catching some fish. doesnt matter what kind of boat, equipment, or anything else for that matter that you have.

Im not trying to upset anyone. Just speaking from my experience.
You are wrong about that group of guys, fished against them all for about 6 years and you will not find a better group of guys anywhere!!!!
Like i said. Speaking from my experience.
I fished a few as a fill-in for someone needing a partner. I didn't get that feeling at all.
Like any new adventure, it takes a while to get to know the people and the people to get to know you. These guys are a close knit group but they are definitely not stuck-up.
Even though I don't routinely fish the tournies, I do see and talk to some of these guys if I happen to be fishing when a tournament is going on. I got to say I haven't ran into any that weren't friendly.
I've been fishing them now for the past few yrs. and everyone of those guys is very helpful and will tell you where the fish are and what they catching them on even in during the tournaments.......so I don't get where your coming from .
Only ones you have to watch is Yates and Tbone.
you must have finished ahead of YATES & T-BONE ha ha......... Or they had to much drink the previous eve and was trying to figure out how to cast.......Quote:

You know I felt the same way my first tournament but that was because I kicked there arses that day. Then, I never won again.......... They have loved me ever since!! Did you win by chance?? LOLQuote:

Pretty sure its because they know Im a donation, but hey, you gotta get fishing buddies how ya can. It sucks you felt that way though because they are in need of as many tourney guys as possible. The numbers have been falling off on boat turn out but I guarantee its not because ppl don't feel welcome.
Man give it another shot sometime! Intorduce yourself as the fella that felt unwelcome and I damn sure guarantee you will be bombarded with good conversation.

Thanks for your comments Yates. I'm not asking anyone to kiss my ass, nor am i going to kiss anyones. I have no problem with my equipment either. Ok so I only tried it once, but that was the feeling i got from it. It was my opinion and you dont have to agree. Maybe if i decide to try it again it will be a different experience.
I have always had a great time losing these tournaments with my dad. T-bone even gave me some advice on buckeye lake during the buckeye crappie challenge. Only reason I haven't fished this year is because I got a newborn and spent two months on the road fishing crappie usa. And let me tell you momma wasnt to happy about me being gone so much lol I enjoy the heck out of them even when you lose you at least get offered a beer back at borehead
next tournament is sept 14th... you dont have to fish it, but lf you are @ the lake after 3:30 stop by the boar head for a beer & a hello...Quote:

My son has baseball on sundays right now. Went on saturday. Apparently there was a bass tourney going on.
New to this site and would like to fish some crappie tournaments this year with you guys. My partner,Dennis,and I would like to get some more info into what/how to get this done in 2017
