Prayers Needed

Prayers needed for My Wife and Her Mom and Dad. My Wife got a call last night at 1;30 to take her mom to the ER. They found a blockage in her colon and think it could be cancer. They left Edenton early this morning via ambulance to Pitt hospital in Greenville to see a team of doctors and do surgery. This puts a lot on our plate right now. especially my Wife. Her Dad has stage 4 bone cancer and we have been dealing with that for a couple years now. Her mom got breast cancer and beat it about 5 years ago and now has whatever this is. Her dad has to be in Norfolk for Dr. appointments on Thursday so sounds like a long week ahead. One parent having serious health issues is mind numbing enough but two is going to make things very difficult. Thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.Ed

Ed you have mine and my wifes prayers. Will have wife drop a note at our church. My wife lost her mom four years ago Sunday, Dad is not good also and has stage four bone cancer. We expect "THAT CALL" every time her sister calls.

Amen. I'm down 2 stepbrothers, a brother in law, and a father in law in the last 7 years. 3 of the 4 were under 50. Prayers to you CF. I always enjoy your posts. Hope you saw me on the technical analysis post in off topic. you did well!

Thanks folks. Keep the prayers coming. They are throwing around words like incurable and possibly a couple spots on the lungs. They have scheduled a colonoscopy for tomorrow to really see what is what. CAT scan showed all kinds of bad stuff. I'm hoping we will find out something not as severe tomorrow but does not look good. She is blocked up from the tumor and has to have some relief. they are talking putting in a stint or could do full blown surgery depending on how tomorrow goes. Again, thanks for the prayers and support. Good bunch of folks here.Ed

I've been down this road a few times in the last 4 years and it is a torcherous time. My prayers will be frequent for your family. Trust the Lord; his plan is so complicated to us, but he will be at your side all the way.

We live about halfway between you and Greenville; stop by any time for a drink, or just to talk and pray. Our door is always open to you at any time.

Lord I ask that you be with crappiefarmer and his family. Guide the doctors, specialists, and surgeons as they work to correct his wife's issue. I ask for complete healing and speedy recovery for her. As in all things, your will be done. Amen.

Just got an update. Not good. The spots on her lungs were confirmed cancer today so she is stage 4. They are deciding what to do right now on either surgery to remove the colon tumor or just put a stint in. The Lung cancer is incurable and the only option is chemo. Don't know the severity of the lung spots yet. Now my Wife will have two parents that are stage 4 cancer at the same time. I know the God will only put a load on You that You can handle so My Wife must be a strong woman. It is going to be one heck of an ordeal.CF

There was more tragedy for My Wife's family today. She also has an aunt and a cousin with the same cancer as her Mom. started in the colon and is aggressive. Her aunt has been down a while with it and is on deaths door. Her cousin had only known he had it for maybe 4 months. He died today. He was in his mid 40's. These two are My Wife's Mom's sister and nephew. The aunt has been being taken care of by My Wife's grandmother who is 90 years old. She came to see my mother-in-law today and they said she looks good. I guess This is Gods plan for her. She is strong for going through this like she had. Just think if you had 2 children and a grandson with the same terrible disease at the same time. I don't know how she functions. One tuff lady.

I have known the cousin since I was dating My Wife. Her Aunt, has also had tragedy with her children. 3 boys. One killed in a car crash in his early 20s. another is a paraplegic(Lewis) from a diving accident when he was 12 and Billy who just died. The doctors said Lewis would never live long but is now in his 40s and outlived his brothers. He is very smart and has been taking care of his mothers financials through all this. They get help from Churches and Government and Lewis makes sure the funds get allocated to the proper places. Unfortunately He will now have to live in a nursing home.

So My Wife has actually had 4 members of her close family fighting cancer at the same time. I have never heard of anything like this. I hope this family can hold together through this terrible time. Please Keep them all in Your prayers.

I lost my wife to cancer and had a son in law murdered. I am still dealing with that daily. Cannot imagine what you and your wife are dealing with. God will help in his way. Let her know my prayers are with her and your families. Jake

Thanks for the up date Ed. Our church and us are still sending out prayers. I was wondering how things were going for you. My mom has been bugging me to get the colon check up. Did it last year, and I am clean. I know this is a bad kind of ancer as I saw what it did the panman. How much can a family take. Makes my problems seam so small.
