Yes as a long time poster and reader at THT, it's quiet obvious that Humminbird can't make a dent in the coastal/offshore market.
Looks like Humminbird's "made for freshwater" perception remains intact.

If they (HB) had fixed the donut a long time ago, I would probably still have my HBs and be bragging that theys the bestist. I ain't got too long to wait. At my age, time passes like gas.

A KVH heading sensor would have solved any of the "donut" issues long (years) before Humminbird came up with their own version of a heading sensor.

Yes, the heading sensor is what's made a big difference. Before, no one could look at there nav. And tell which way they were moving while at very low speeds.the next thing that I would like, would be for hummingbird to add chirp to 360.

Yeah, that donut thing drove a lot of people over the edge....just like the 83Khz issues are now.

A smarter program woulda fixed most of the problem. Successive approximations they call it.

Since HB shut down inputs at .5 mph and refreshed position on once per second, A KVH would not help much. Besides, the 997 should have worked at a cost of 2Gs. Beside this, my (and others) complaints finally paid off.
