LSL Angler new used boat
I finally found a real nice boat after looking for a year. It is a 2000 Champion 191 with a 200 hpr Merc on it. It has less than 100 hours on it. It had only one scratch on it till I took it out to Truman to break it in. I need to mount my spider rig holders so if any one has a picture of where theres is mounted i would appreciate it before I drill and mount mine. Also I would like to mount them on the sides for trolling also, so if you have pictures of where yours is mounted put them on here so I can see. If you see my boat, stop me and say hello. It has the original fish locators and trolling motor so I will have to upgrade them this winter. Thanks for looking and sending pictures if you have any. Congrats on the new boat, looks like a very nice rig. As far mounting your hi tecs, you could use a sheet of plywood for temporary base until you find the locations that work best for ya.

That trolling motor should be a MotorGuide Brute. They are about bulletproof. Newer is not necessarily better. If it's working I'd not mess with it.
I have a '93 Champion. Only thing I've done to mine is replace the toggle switch on the foot pedal. The toggle was plastic and broke off after 18 years use, replaced with a metal one.
Just sayin'.

Mark I have a 188 Champion & i did have the same type of rigging rack on it, Sorry no pic but I put them up close on each side..The thing i didnt like was have to put the left one on after i put t/m down. So I went to the single rod holders & leave them on all threw rigging time..They lean back to get out of the way..Good luck with the new boat..Not a better riding boat on the water..Good looking boat..

The trolling motor is a motor guide brute 56 lb thrust. It does ok on normal days but the boat is pretty heavy seems to need a little more thrust on windy day.

Congrats Mark, know you worked hard and were patient to find the right boat. The 191 is descendant from the first Champion wide body model, the 190, that was first made in 1992, they widened em out for more deck space and more stability and continued to make improvements to them all the way through the 90s and into early 2000's. That boat has some good heritage. Merc 2.5L is one of the best big HP engines Mercury ever made. Good choice all the way around.

I know where it's twin is. Hard to believe how much it looks like Brandon's boat. He absolutely loves his. Mark I bet it is faster than you would want to drive it on Truman.

Yeah Brandon did a double take when I pulled up when he was working, he thought it was his boat. I really have not had it up to full throttle yet. The bad thing about the boat is that it has a 48 gallon fuel tank on it. That a lot of jack when the tanks on empty.
