Used Applewood, Bad Byrons Butt Rub, brown sugar and melted butter, cattlemans bbq sauce.......used the 3....2....1 method Oh yeh....I poured a can of Mountain Dew in the water pan

Dang that looks good!! WHat is the 3-2-1 method? I've seen it referenced on here several times.
Set smoker at 225....put rub on the ribs....cook uncovered for 3 hrs. at end of three hours brush down with mixture of melted butter and brown sugar....wrap tight in foil....put back in and cook for two more hours.....at the end of that 2 hrs. remove wrap and brush down with bbq sauce....put back in for another hr.

noticed all the talk about master built grills fixing to get either a master or a green egg can some of ya give me the pros and cons of both.
The Master built is insulated, electric, thermostatically controlled digital smoker....its a smoker ( wood chips) only. They are on sale now at Tractor Supply for around $150 ( regularly close to $250) .....The Big Green Egg is a ceramic combination charcoal/wood chip grill / smoker. The Big Green Eggs I have looked at are around a thousand dollars or more. They are both good.
Both are good . Question is do you smoke or grill more . May want both . The weber kettle grill does good as a grill , the egg holds heat better .

G, where did you put the pan of beans inside the smoker? Which rack? Did you put the corn on a rack or wrap with foil? Where do I send the check for answering all my questions??
I put the ribs on a rack right above the water pan......I put the beans on a rack right above the ribs ( uncovered).....cooked the beans for 5 hrs. I buttered the corn and wrapped it individually in foil...I put two ears on the rack with the ribs and the other one on the rack with the beans.....cooked the corn two hrs. Barely opened my vent.....maybe a eighth of a inch.

They should put you guys on commision. Finally got mine & got it seasoned. Gonna try it out Saturday when I have time to devote to it. Been one thing or another for the past several days. I appreciate all the info too. :cool: Make it easy for us rookies.
i like the beans below the meat catches the drippings and adds flavor to them
Mine was 174 to my door on amazon.com. by the time I would have paid taxes and had to pick it IP it worked out close to even.
