Come on home, OkieBob! Hope you find a place you really like and find it Sooner! (As in Boomer Sooner)!:cheers2
OkieBob...welcome back to the North side of the Red River. Let us know when you find a place and get settled.....dave
Can't wait to meet ya OkieBob, been following your adventures on that south of us forum for a long time! You should be settled in just time for the winter time slab catching!
Thanks Floyd and the rest of you guys!!! Sorry it took me so long to catch up on what is happening on crappie.com.
Closed on a place just east of Ardmore last Monay and hope to get moved in next week. I'm anxious to get on some of the OK lakes and wet a line.
Had to give away all my stock of frozen texas crappie and need to refill the freezer! Think I'm starting withdrawal.
Anyone want to fill my Lund and show me around would be very welcome!
Thanks again for the warm welcome!
Okie Bob, welcome back to Oklahoma. Checkout the Oklahoma Crappie Camp subforum and consider joining us for the Fall Crappie Camp at Ft. Gibson on October 17-19th......dave
Welcome home! I hope the closing went well? Did you use the Real Estate folks I sent to you?
Quick update.
Sorry it's taken so long to respond. First, Frank, I had already made contact with a realtor and ended up buying a place through her. Thanks for the referral.
I'm now located about 10 miles east of Ardmore but, it took longer than expected to take possession and get moved in. Pretty much settled now and got to fish Texoma this past week. Met Bobby Russell, a lurker on here that I'm sure some of you know. He showed me the ropes on Texoma and I'm sure we'll be fishing together often.
It seems most of the crappi.com members are from the northern part of our state. I'm hoping to help change that now. If any of you
know of any one from around the Ardmore area, please invite them to join the forum! I suspect a lot of outdoor guys down here are more into hunting, and so am I. But, crappie is my passion and we'll have both sports in common.
I'm still a rookie in this neck of the woods but, plan to change that. I can fish most any weekday and welcome anyone to join me. There are a lot of good crappie lakes down here so come on down!
I can be contacted via text or voice at 817-729-7865 or email me at [email protected]
Great. Texoma is a heavy striper lake. Soldier creek has lots of structure. Most guys up here due to cost may not travel that far towing a boat at 10 mpg. Welcome home and glad you are settling in!
Glad you got settled in okie bob! You coming to camp?
Sorry to say I can't make the camp this fall. Just too much to do here on my new place. Right now, I'm shooting for the spring camp next June if not the winter camp if it is still on?
I'm still hoping to enlist other crappie guys down here in south central Okie Land. I realize it's a haul for you northern guys but, I'd sure welcome any of you that care to make the trip. We have some beautiful scenery and lots of crappie fishing down here too!
Bob, I've got your phone number in my contacts. When I'm own your way, I will give you a holler!
Bob, I'll try to get down some later this winter. I drove by Arbuckle a few days ago and didn't like what I saw. Lowest it's been and the water looked nasty. I'm having a hard time getting interested in fishing right now. Been thinking more about bowhunting than crappie
Glad you're getting settled in.
Thanks Floyd, would love to have you down whenever you feel the urge! Haven't been to Arbuckle in awhile so can't comment. I do know that Texoma is 5' low or was last week. We've had some nice rains the past few days. Texoma is a big lake but, a nice one and has some hogs that need to be thinned out some so I'll probably spend most of my time this fall over there.
I'm not a bow hunter, prefer a rifle! I only have 25 acres but, have a LOT of hunting land adjoining my property. I hear there are some real trophy bucks in the area as well as hogs and turkey. Hopeing to get some game cams and feeders out soon.
