We are having a get-together at High Rock Lake NC next Saturday Aug 16 if anyone would like to attend. Planning to cook hot dogs before we fish and haven't decided what time we will meet up after fishing but all are welcome to attend.

exuse me I see it is a night fish my bad== but still need to know what time you gonna start.
We will meet around 6 at the Tamarac marina. Hope some of you southerners can come
Thanks for the invite. I am working that day but can try to make it. I don't have a partner lined up but will see who will go and give you a shout. I have never fished High Rock so someone will have to point me in a good direction if I can make it.:biggrin
We are working on details as far as start/finish times and which ramp as the place we are cooking at has a ramp but there is a public access ramp across the road. We will post details as soon as we can.
I can't make this one, but would like to later on. Just curious, how much is the NC annual non resident fishing license and is it from the date of purchase or does it have a start and end date like SC??
Just FYI, starting in Jan 2015, SC fishing licenses will run 12 months from date of purchase, instead of the June to June thing as in the past. About time, even though I have a lifetime license, this is a better way of doing it.
Ray, I paid $30 for my non resident and it goes from date of purchase. Now if I were to go to the ocean fishing in NC it will cost another $30 for non resident total of $60. It is tricky but if you only fish fresh water it's $30 bucks. If you are planning to come up here and fish NC water with us and going to High Rock too it is worth it and you can get them on line. Print out your purchase order and in a few days you will get your hard copy in the mail.:highfive
I'm about 90% ready, but I need someone to ride along that can help a newbie out with the how to part.
I'm working on side lights tomorrow so we can see the rod tips, bottom lights are ready.
Need to load the live well get bait, some hooks, figure out where you are meeting
Anybody want to go?
Come on and meet up with us. We will give you all the lake info we can. We are meeting at Tamarac Marina on Bringle Ferry Rd. Tamarac has bait and tackle and a ramp. You can stop at Hill's Minnow Farm before you get to Tamarac and IMO Hill's is a much better store. Also there is a public access ramp across the road from Tamarac.
OK, Looks like I have everything I need, I've got crew boat, rods tackle lights anchors.
Is there an easier way off I85 to Bringle Ferry other than Ennis to Newsome rd
Do we need to bring anything for the cook out?
Does Hill's sell by the dozen pound, how many should I get, this is only the second time I've fished live bait for Crappie so I need some help.
Get off I-85 on Jake Alexander Blvd exit 75 or 76. Turn right and go to the end of Jake Alex. blvd and turn right onto Stokes Ferry rd. At this intersection you will see signs to Dan Nicholas Park, just follow the signs although most of the roads that come out on the left on Stokes Ferry come out on Bringle Ferry but the sign will have you turn on Providence Church rd. Hill's does sell by the lb most of the time we get 3 dozen per person. Check the NC board or PM Newly to see if he needs anything for the cookout. Hope to see you there.
Looks like we will start cooking around 5:30, start fishing whenever you want and meet back at 1:00 for show & tell.
Scooperdude Glad you are gonna be able to make it. We will have everything. Just come hungry.
Newly, We are looking forward to doing some fishing and eating!
It will be me plus one.
I'd like to hook up with someone so I know where to fish, I've only been on Highrock a couple times and never at night.
