Here is my first attempt to tie some marabou jigs. I am using cheap ebay marabou and some jigheads from belizaire. I am also using a metal vise instead of a normal fly vise.Attachment 170283

Looking pretty good for first attempt. Lot better than mine did.
it should catch fish and you did a good job.
Very good for a first attempt. Wish my first ones would've looked that good!
For a first one, good job. I am not sure but it looks like you cut the tips off? If so don't do that, always cut the other end off for length before it's tied in. Also even though this one is fine and I can't really tell from the pic, but it may be possible to use a little less marabou. Just tips incase I see what I think I do.
still will catch fish though!
Thanks for the comments. I forgot to mention that this jig was made for small bass at a pond that I fish at so I cut the tips off and put a lot of marabou to give it a bigger profile.
good job get out and use the jigs hit a fly shop and have a look at some stuff for some flash
good for the 1st time its a great way to fill in a rain day
Good first attempt
Looks pretty bushy but still should work for you.
Attachment 170305Here is a less bulkly version for crappie and some other brim
Both will catch bass and crappie, just need to get them in the water.
Awesome man glad you got the jigs hope you catch a ton of fish with them I just got the mold for those heads this year
Real good for a first. Mine weren't even close. A strip or two of flash really dresses em up good.
Good Job! Although the tail is a bit heavier than I like, sometimes more is better and other times less is better. You got nice heads to add eyes to as well, anything from a stick on eye to hand painted works great and with the recess is very easy to do.
You are well on your way. Welcome to this mad world of tying :)
Here is a wet jig that I tied with BuckeyeKdog. I really need to get more tying materials
