What you plant for the doves Bama ?
Actually we spread wheat above ground and let it come up. The doves eat the grains that don't germinate. I have transmission lines going over one end of my pond and the dove love this area.
Thanks Bama, I was wondering what you could plant that would mature in that short of time!
Yes, help stop erosion by broadcasting wheat.
I found that the dove love fresh plowed fields so I wait late and plow it a few times over a two week period. Plus they roast in some pines on the other end of the pond.as the whet comes up it draws the deer in also.
I understand I'm still laughing
Redi or not here comes the seed

In the past I've seen farmers plant a few rows of sunflowers down the side of their other crops. Most of the flower heads would be about 6 inches or so by now.
I saw 4 fields like that this week. They must be black oil seeds, the heads were maybe 3 inches.
