Thinking it might be time to get a fish n ski as the kids are ready to be dragged around the lake.
I was thinking something along the lines of a Skeeter SL 180/190 or Stratos 486.
Does anybody have any pics of how their fish n ski are set-up? Any likes or dislikes about using this style boat?
PS I have pushed/pulled cranks from center console (with kicker) and tiller boats, along with trolled with friends I-piliot bass boats.
If it were me it wouldn't be a fish and ski, find you a pontoon with some room on the back to fish off of. They just don't make and set up a fish and ski big enuff. A walleye boat might fit the bill. Have had 2 fish and ski's and just wasn't satisfied with them.
Pontoon for sure especially with kids and coolers and grocery's.
Pontoons are nice---until it's windy like yesterday. Hard to pull into the wind on a toon. We tried it yesterday for awhile, and wound up going in. Nice going with the wind tho. They ARE kid friendly!!!! Attachment 169502Attachment 169503
Rees guide, the models I am considering are more of walleye styled fish'n'ski rather than bass boat. Room is one of my concerns.
Others, not interested in pontoon boat but possible a deck boat to get that open layout.
FYI, ski trips will be separate from fishing trips and most fishing trips will be solo or with one other adult.
That style boat, a version of the Deep V with a walk through windshield, is a nice choice!!!!!Quote:

That's what I just got for the same purposes. It's not ideal for either fishing or skiing but its a good compromise. I'm going with two 4-pole Spyderlok rigs on the bow (I have a side-by-side seat option up front) with an extra base in the middle of the bow and an extra base at the stern seat location.Quote:

The Reata is a very nice ride.
I had a Nitro fish/ski. Pulled cranks and spider rigged out of it. You can do it all but there's not enough room for side by side seating. You can mount any rod holders on it. I had a 2 rod holder in the back of each side for pulling cranks. Now I didn't have a good trolling motor for pulling cranks but I did have 3, 5 gallon buckets I'd drag out the back to slow down
