Does'nt suprize me at all. I been telling folks for a long time I would not swim here. Main reason I keep seeing folks with skin infections from contact with the water with breaks in the skin. Like I said in earlier post , two campers got bad skin infections on their hands after fishing and dressing fish for a few days! Local farms apply chicken litter to hay and cattle fields for fertilizer. The manure from Chicken house litter and Cattle has to wash into the lake with all the flash flooding going on.:twocents :yikes Like swimming in a septic tank! Does'nt take a rocket scientist to figure this out when we been getting 3 to 5 '' rains causing flash floods and creeks draining local farms goes into the lake. i can smell the litter on warm evenings at my house in town and one creek runs across my property, it has been flooding with all the rain. That creek flows into Nimrod like the rest in the area.
good fertilizer makin them fish grow!!!! lol !!! i had to wash my boat this week had so much crud on it from fishing there over the weekend, you wont see me swimming in it for sure!
Phew, get out the bleach, not only does the fertilizer affect Nimrod how about down stream. That chicken litter is some hot stuff, i soak a small sac of chicken goo in my rain barrel and give the plants a cup every other week. Big fruits and veggies.
From the title, what are the fish gonna do? If they can't swim, should be some easy pickings grabbing em on the bank!!! :)
I wonder if this isn't related to the blue-green algae mentioned in another thread?
I ain't been "right" since I fished over there with Nimrod. Lake Nimrod has a beach?
What about eating the fish. I remember years ago warning signs at the boat ramps on Nimrod about contaminated fish.
Charlie K, They'll be okay if you cook. Bacteria dies off 160 degrees or so. I wouldn't use them for sushi though. RCC, "right" might be a long trip for you. Nimrod's got a right nice beach, not so sure it's number 1 on my list of fancy resorts.
The only thing good about a bass I have found is they are a great tomato fertilize! !!
