You don't have the best bait listed. A beetle spin with a black/yellow body. I don't mean that greenish looking yellow either. A bright school bus yellow. If they are being picky that day you can add just a dab of shrimp.
We enjoy Bream fishing!!! the best bait we have seen in a long time !!(The minner critter by Meatgetter)!!! Crickets, wax worms, ect!!! Fly rod and Bream killer!!! If you haven't tried the black/chart,black/orange minner critter by Meatgetter or better yet Miss Meatgetter!!! under a float or straight on bottom!! For Bream not trying to sell!!! They are unreal!! for Bream!!!Just try putting one on a Bream bed!!!
Ole faithful a box of cold worms
I've been raising redworms for years in my vermicompost bins. I have caught far more bluegills with them, and a small float, than any other bait.
Butter Worms and Wax Worms
Red wigglers or crickets depending on the day. Crickets are my favorite for specifically targeting bluegill, red wigglers if there are shellcrackers mixed in with the bg.
i have learned to luv butterworms !!!
What are butter worms? never heard of them before.
I called themOversized waxworms, but they are from Chile. Might cost more but have tougher skin, an BGS. Can't resist them. I have average up to 5 Gills on 1butterworm. Also heard other panfish including crappie luv them also
Where can I order these
My vote is for leaf/trout worms. Caught a dozen gills yesterday on them (about the only thing biting unfortunately).
The pupa from my mealworm farm, the problem is they love them too much because 95% of them caught with the pupa are gut hooked.
The common Japanese beatle is deadly under a float

Underutilized warmouth bream are a great August target in Sparkleberry Swamp - South Carolina Sportsman
I watched an in fisherman where they were using micro spoons and 1" gulp minnows, pulling out some pretty big gills. I picked up a few yesterday to try, theres a lake by my office that seems to have a pretty good bluegill population. I guess we'll see how well they work.
Hard to beat a worm on a hook though.
