I love it when you find the Christmas gift that keeps on giving. I know of a couple that I spotted this winter while ice fishing that were tied up on the ice. I just haven't found the time to go try them out just yet.

RiverScum & I hit the water late last night to a long ago fishin hole. Kinda slooow. Not Crappie but we did get some that were silver. Catching them in 35 f.o.w. anywhere from 20 - 30 ft down. Had 1 surprise channel cat. Fresh trout on the grill for lunch.:cheers2

Nice catch. I think I know where you were at, at least I have a sneaking suspicion. Those are some great eating though. They are also a blast to catch, they start jumping everywhere when you get them to the top.

decided to switch it up again, and hit some channel cats. fished the first 2 hours of dark. i set up on the channel edge in a likely spot up in the reservoir. tossed baits up on the shallows and sat back. weather was great and fishing not too bad. it wasnt on fire but action was steady. caught maybe 10-12 and missed 1. fish ranged from 12"-28". kept 4 mids for the fryer.

crawlers on slip bobbers in 45fow.

Very nice fish. However, please pardon my ignorance since there aren't any trout down here at the very bottom of the state. Are those lake trout, and are they native to your area of Indiana or are they stocked?
-
they are stocked rainbows. trout club also stocks browns in our lakes.
there are some trout waters down south. --http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/files..._locations.pdf--

Geez, those look like some big rainbows. Again, I have never caught any either though. I live in Harrison County, so it looks like on Oak Lake in Clark County would be the closest to me at about 35 miles or so. Thanks for the link and the fish education.
-
your welcome bouncer. just fish them like you would crappie at night. i look for mark under 20ft to set up on rt before dark. good luck to ya.

RiverScum & I got to slap the water for alittle while last night. Bass Tournament on the lake, ramp was completely full :-( So we figured it was going to be tough. Fish seen every kinda of lure. We hit a hard water spot a popped 4 Bass, 3 pike (2 were dinks). Then we set up for the late night crappie bite. Crappies had lock-jaw but we did get 5 all were under 12". Pike was 34" just a hair over 9#

RiverScum & I back at it last night. Few hours before dark beat the pads for bass, with just a few small takers. Then searched out the crappies. Drop the "Reel-Lites" sit and wait for bait to come in. Then the feeders. :cheers2 Not the location we were excpecting but we will take it.
