Livin' the high life. GTT
When I was a kid, they wouldn't let us bring it inside the school. The principle would take it away from you and if it was a sizable quantity, he would be late the next morning.
That's for the teachers. Lmao
Dated a few school teachers after my 1st divorce and I can see where they would want a few beers after dealing with those kids all day.:Rofl
I used to bring my teachers an apple. Now they get beer?
Bwwaaaa.....that's funny.....needs to be sent to Walgreen's corporate......bet they wouldn't think it's as funny as we do
Just thought about it. Would the beer be for science or social events? I suppose you could use it for math rather tham taking off your shoes.
Helping out the kiddy's is great! But the teacher's can get teir own beer. LOL
I taught school for 2 years.........1971-72........ They told us that we were forbidden from writing a check at a liquor store!!! True....
Well.........I wuz just commentin' that teachers weren't "allowed" to drink back then, and now they are being bribed with beer.....
OK OK OK.....it was not that humorous. Never mind............ :bash
One of my best friends just retired from teaching elementary school for 30+ years. He said every year kids would bring him Christmas gifts of all kinds most were things you might expect, but one year a student brought him a package of men's underwear. :donoHe says to this day he still doesn't know if there was supposed to be an underlying message in that or what.
I am sure that dates back to the time when pregnant women were not allowed to teach school during pregnancy.
I would bet the student switched tags and you got the dads present or they just grabbed one without looking at who it ws for. Where they the right size?.
He's a tight wad so I remember he said he wore them. Whether they fit or not I can't say. We just had fun rassing him though.
Bill, you'll just have to forgive me........I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes! I guess it just struck me as being so foreign that anybody could tell you that you couldn't drink! Especially if you were in the privacy of your own home! Just the lawyer in me coming out, I guess!
OH. Well, they did, or very close to it. They never did come right out and say "Never ever, not even in your home", but they did explicitly say "Do not get caught by a school patron at a honkey tonk, do not write a check at a liquor store".......that kind of thing. The Pulaski County Special School District in 1971. My wife taught also, and she was pregnant, due in April 1972. They told her she could NOT teach in the semester in which she was due. So she sat out the spring 1972 Semester, no pay.
Times were different........not so very long ago. I realize I'm old..........
