AutoChart Live: AutoChart Live - YouTube
I checked my humminbird account and I don't see the update for my onix, thats has the autochart live.:dono maybe the update isn't available yet:dono.......I'd like to give it a try though, when its available because were I fish my navionics card doesn't seem to be all that accurate. Im curious to see the discrepancies between the two:crazy:
The software update that supports this has not been released yet kosmo.
It should show up in your account when it is available but I will try and remember to post something when I see that it is released.
Did you have an ONIX 8 or 10?
I too will have one, this pretty much seals the deal
If it's similar to Lowrances Insight Genesis it's pretty cool stuff.
Tips 'N Tricks 122: Auto Chartâ„¢ Live for ONIX & ION - YouTube. This is a good info video by doug.just ignore the humminbird sales pitch
Does Insight Genesis map and render contours on the chart "live on the water" right in the unit processing...like this new "AutoChart Live"...??
Or is Insight Genesis a PC based software like regular AutoChart and AutoChart Pro...??
It's really cewl that the brands are working on added charting and mapping features for their customers...
Rickie
Rickie it's not live. You record then download it to the Insight Geneses site. Then go back later and download your map.
If HB can do it all on the unit live that's pretty cool.
Rees, They may be using a pair of 1197 units to map these lakes with but I don’t think that they are running any software that would make the maps live.
Yep.

I posted this on Monday at BBC. Used 1.190 for a couple of weeks seeing what it would do.
Update 1.200 is supposed to come out this week. In addition to Auto Chart Live they have fixed bugs and sped up the loading time on views. Some observations:
1. Boot up time is a bit faster than it used to be and once you hit the "Confirm" button it goes straight to the views, not a delay there anymore.
2. Maximizing views is also faster, so is pinching to zoom and swiping for settings. Opening menus are also much better.
3. I don't hear the pinging coming from behind the unit anymore!!
4. Auto Chart Live is crazy good, especially if you are mapping out humps or river channels.
5. The Mosaic feature works really well also, especially on 360. I have only laid down a couple of tracks but so far it's very easy to use.
6. I uploaded my waypoints and they are all where they are supposed to be. I don't use waypoints for fishing usually, I mark stumps and dangers for the most part, so it's very easy for me to confirm whether they are in the right spot or not.
7. One of the new features involves the Fusion radios, sorry I can't comment on this since I don't have one. Might have to get one to see what that's all about.
8. I am running 3 Onix units and I have not had any freeze ups or weird problems while using the new update. With 1.150 I would lose the bow unit once in a while but that has not happened since updating.
The new update will take 4-6 minutes to load up and I can tell you it feels longer. So just be patient and the unit will reboot when everything is done. What I have done is save all my settings to a SD card then restore defaults before I update. I then insert the new SD card in and let the unit take care of the rest. On one of the units I had to go to the "Files" menu and get it going that way but it was no big deal. After the update is finished, I have gotten in the habit of restoring defaults again, just in case. I am pretty sure I don't have to do all that but I do it out of habit. After all is said and done I upload all my settings back in from the SD card and good to go.
Sorry for the long post, hope this helps.
The 1.200 software version is on the web site now (I just checked). Not sure when it was posted there as I had planned on checking it daily but got busy… sorry kosmo but at least you will have it for the weekend!
Bob, ive tryed my onix 10 with the new software, seems to be working ok.theres some bug fixes in this software and the autochart seems to work just like in dougs video. (Autocharts is pretty kool) the mosaic mapping , using si is kool to.the onix10 still boots slower than I would like and theres still a little pause between windows openning. (I like this unit)
Thanks Kosmo.....I have been watching the Onix and waiting......Been a little tired of all the software problems they have had for the last couple of years, but maybe they are getting their act together on the software.
They certainly are leading the pack with innovation, and the Onix looks like it is going to be a great unit.
You have another trolling motor option too.
Kosmo,
When using the mosaic make sure you use the 360 as the SI source. If not it will lag and skip. Also if you are in a lake that is not too deep or that has deep drop offs, when you use Auto Chart Live set your contours to 1ft, 3ft at the most. That way you will have better data to use for the Follow the Contour (if you have it).
deil, just read your post , thanks.im not sure how to do the 360 mosiac mapping.i have done the si mosiac . I'm also still undecided on which way I want to go with my trolling motor options.i no this for sure, im tired of using the cable drive trollling motors.im wanting to relax and fish.not work my but off keeping the boat were I want itrotfl
