Was another beautiful morning on the water. Got a couple hours a fishing in before work. I had to pay my dues in undersize gills and perch before landing this hog.

great picks
Nice one
From the picture I'm pretty sure I know where it's at...closer to you Rich than to me. I've never caught anything but whites out of that lake.
When he said "in one of the lakes where the state record came from" I had a pretty good indication of where it came from too!
Beautiful fish! Got any measurements on it?
They're in that body of water/impoundment, LSC, Detroit River, St Clair River ... having Canadian license helps because the best catches are in Mitchell's Bay, out in front of Stoney Point/Belle River and in a few Windsor, ON marinas, et..
Back at the Martiny Slabfest, I brought up catching crappie out of there and we had a discussion on identifying the differences between black/white crappie ... looking at the picture, you guys can see why I was talking "white" crappie.
I'm pretty sure Belleville Lake, Pontiac, and all those lakes around there have them too.
Kent,
I remembered the discussion you and I had about "that body of water". It was the first place I thought of when I saw the post.
When I go to Stoney point however, Perch are on my mind!
Are you referring to Stony Point nearer the lower Detroit River/Lake Erie? I've never fished it & always wonder where it is ... hear guys talk about perchin' there. The Stony Point I'm referring to is on the Canadian side of LSC, between the Thames & Ruscom River(s) ... lot of weed beds that hold good numbers of panfish, smb, walleye, musky, et...
Yup, it is the point thet jets out just south of the Fermi Power plant
Nice slab
