But How do the :donoCDC folks dispose of the guts?
Havent gotten that far in the process first thing i have to do is hook them i figure the rest will come to me
I used to bury them in the back....until we got a dog that realized he could dig them up...fishy dog is pretty nasty... Now I'll bag and drop in the deep freezer until trash day. Of course....I don't have to get rid of nearly as many as YOU do. :biggrin
I put my guts and bones in an old feed sack. The bones cannot penetrate that. Then I put the feed sack into a big garbage bag and drop everything into a dumpster.
I'm fortunate enough to live on a creek that empties into a river so my fish cleaning station has a tin chute that empties into the creek and everything between here and the river gets the benefit of it! <*{{{{<<
Tote mine into the woods at the end of my street. Keeps the opossums and the cats happy happy happy. :biggrin
I've got a ditch behind the house and I "fling" em in there. Coons dredge them out an clean up what they want. Going to start using them in the garden though. Country living fringe benefits.
Coulee runs across our property, feed the turtles and occasional gator that visits, cause he knows he can get a meal
Throw em in the back yard....
Or in a trap in the back yard.....

Were ya been? Is that the Pearl?
Still around. Trying to put a boat together.
A creek that feeds the old pearl
Right down road from where I had told u to go last time
I freeze 'um and put in the can on garbage day. I sometimes put them in the garden, depending at what stage the garden is. I used to go 3 blocks and chunk them into the bayou and feed the catfish but the "holier than thou" types, and I don't mean religion wise, frown down on the practice.
"gene"
I throw em back in the lake at the spillway... turtles, catfish, brim... all gotta eat... they might as well eat healthy.. :)
What's really bad is the folks that think they have to throw them on a boat ramp. People that do that should be punished. Saw that up at Jennings last time I was up there. Lucky they have 2 ramps cause the flies were really bad.
I freeze them till trash day.
Once I catch something I'll decide what to do with the waste.:biggrin
I clean my fish right next to the lake here as my cleaning station is just a few feet from the water so just pitch them in the lake. As said above, the turtles and perch will eat them. Right after I first moved back up here I was keeping fish a lot more often and every time I went down to the boat house to clean fish and started to make noise you could see turtle heads pop up all along the water where I live. Then as you throw the car us in they would fight over which one got what, LOL!
Well, i first have to catch a fish to have to worry about the guts. last time i bagged them up and let them ride in the back of the truck for a few days. Thought i was gonna have to trade the truck in to get rid of the smell. on normal occasions i take them to the creek down the road form the house and dump them there.
Recycle them .
