Nice fish
Great looking fish there. I've had trouble this year finding them up there.
How do you troll for them over there? In my part of Arkansas where the lakes are deep and clear, we pull big umbrella rigs to fish down to 20 - 30 feet, and use downriggers with plugs or jigs to go deeper, sometimes 50 - 60 feet deep.
im getting downriggers set up on my boat, I haven't fished that way yet myself.
Nice catch. Check out the article below.

Well keep all you catch and soon there will be none left. Ever heard of CPR, " Catch, Photo, Release " ? nonono
If we kept all we caught no one would need a fishing boat!
There is always that one ▲▲▲.
Nice catch. I dont post pics and reports anymore bc of all the negative people and lurkers who get disapointed when I dont tell them exactly where.
Keep it up!
Yes and there are those that rape the lakes and then wonder in a few years, I wonder what happened to all the fish? We used to catch some nice fish here, but not no more. Wonder why daaaaaa? one person in a picture with 11 fish when the limit is 4. I think that is very selfish and unsportsman like!!!!!!!!!! :twocents
He said he had other guys with him. They may have not wanted their fish and decided to given them to him.
If you'll read my original post you'll see that there were two other guys with with US. Adds up to more than one. The young man in the pics that's always holding fish up is my son. As far as wondering where all the fish are, there's plenty in the lakes if you fish enough to know where to look for them under all weather conditions. I'll be the first to admit I keep a lot of fish. As long as I'm within regulations I see nothing wrong with that and will continue to do so.
I thought the limit was 8 per person... Either way... eat them and enjoy them. I very seldom keep fish but they are my favorite. Nothing like grilled striper with some Cajun seasoning... I usually end up giving away any I catch. This time of year..... if you take them out of the water..... then keep them. They usually will not survive if you can't unhook them in the water.
Nice fish! Yeah regs changed for all lakes above norman to 20"min and 4max. That's a healthy lake..there are some big fish in there.
Some people including myself done waste fish. Everything I ever eat gets clvacume sealed. Id take lake and ocean self caught fish over store bought disease infested no telling how old it is fish raised off of artificle, chemical based feed directly from a poop plant anyday.
Nice catch bro. Thanks for sharing the pics with us.I like to eat striper also.I have some weenie dogs and they love the red meat off of the skin side when I fillet em.Have you ever caught any up there with red spots on them?
Sure have bearclaw. Usually happens when they feed on sandy bottoms or around structure seems like. I think they rub against it and that causes it. My best guess anyway.
It seems a shame when honest sportsmen, following the rules and regulations, get crap for having a good day on the water. nice post and good picture. next time i hope you get your limit of 16.
well said Pete..
I would not put to much stock in the number of fish versus the number of people in the photo. I have seen photos of deer that were killed where I knew the people in the photo was not he person that killed the deer. With a limit of 4 fish and a group of 25 people I can have a hundered fish on the table and take 25 photos then show you just one pic. Can you prove that the person in the photo caught all 100 fish. I didn't think so. Calm down until you can prove something is wrong. Thats one thing wrong today to many people jumping to a conclusion when they don't know the real story.
Yeah...pictures don't tell it all...could be the other way around...too many fish all caught by one person, but then get your friends in the picture so it looks legit
@Brucec, just curious, do you have an objection to keeping a quantity of fish, even within the limit, or concerned about people taking fish over the legal limit?
Just curious...you're certainly entitled to your opinion either way. Heck, some folks would like to outlaw fishing entirely. I enjoy hearing other people's perspectives...as long as they're not obnoxious...
We caught 30 in one day up in the Tenn River over the 4th..Attachment 167739
Here is my friend Jeff holding one...Attachment 167740Attachment 167741
We caught 65 stripers in 3 days..Heard another boat from Charlotte came up same week as us and caught about 80 stripers all biggins.
Man those are nice stripers. Hope to get up there sometime. Nice catch and congrats.
