I am not real sure about a challenge, Chuck...I think we have done beat that dog to death:yikes...And no plans have been made as of yet for a "Get Together" at Talquin for November. There has been some talk about having it at The Whippoorwill this year but nothing has been planned...Hooker and I talked about it a little this past weekend and will try to come up with something soon....I have been wanting to talk with Speckanator about adding Talquin to his list of lakes for the Points Race this year if the FL gang is still going to do that this year...Talquin, Monroe and Crescent could prove to be some very interesting weights in a points race...I know it is a little bit of a drive to get to Talquin...Takes me close to 4 hours to get there, but the fishing is worth the drive...Maybe this would be a good time to kick it around a little bit and see who all would be interested in coming to Talquin in November and possibly adding it to the Points Race schedule. I can't make it to all of the SlabTogethers or Slabfests in FL, but I am planning on trying to make it to 3 or 4 this year if things work out....Anyone interested in some sort of Get Together at Talquin on Nov 8, 2014???
Count me in. I will be at Talquin the month of November. Looking forward to seeing everybody.
Count us in.
Well....Anyone else interested in fishing at Talquin in November? Me, Chuck and Jonboatfisher gonna need some help:fish
TnT..........you got a PM.................you've had one for DAYS! :Rofl
I should be able to make it!
I got the PM a couple of days ago...Just seeing how many folks down your way might be interested in attending. The number of folks this year may be a large factor as to where we will be having the event. November is usually a g very good month to fish at Talquin and we'll be there the 2nd weekend of November, one way or the other...Would love to see some of the Central FL bunch there. I am hoping to see yall at Monroe in Oct.:cheers2
Dang, I'll miss the October slabfest, I have already made plans for Santee Cooper. Putting a trailer at Blacks. Want to learn the lake for crappie and catfish.
I'm in Tallahassee until Mid-August....killing me I don't have my boat with me to try this lake!
Talquin in November......sounds like a song title......:biggrin We'll be there
Tim
Me Danbo & some are going to Altamaha 15th so will touch base with my crowd and let you know even tho we ain't ever going back to Fla.
We stay at the Whip anyway because of slips.
Where 5 or more will gather, a Slabfest of some sort will be had...So far, only GA folks, 1 misplaced yankee from Indiana and an old grouch has chimed in...Looks like the date will be November 8. I'm sure we'll have the same format as last year with a Fish Fry on Friday night and a Hot Dog lunch on Saturday with some door prizes. Possibly a Fruit Jar tournament on Friday if anyone is interested. The location has yet to be determined but we'll be working on that in the next month or so.
Hey, you are just jealous, I get to fish all over the eastern US for crappie and catfish. :biggrin That's alright, you and Talquin Maggie will be doing the same in just a few years. Then it is your turn to make people jealous. :fish
I'm still trying to figure out who the "old grouch" is..........sounds like hooker or rawhide or even pontiac:Rofl
