Hello from Texas
Hello everyone. I'm an old dog looking for new tricks. I usually fish for crappie straight down from dock. I tie a weight on bottom, come up about 16 inches and tie my eagle claw # 2 Aberdeen hook. I fish with minnows and don't use a bobber. I'm a line watcher, I watch for side to side line movement and set the hook. Someone told me that I tight line fish. I don't know what it's called, but I've been fishing like this for 45 years. My wife is starting to fish with me and wants to try artificial bait, so I'll be reading as much as I can to learn stuff. I may ask newbie questions. Good to meet everyone.

Welcome from Louisiana. Get her some 1/16 oz jigs and a couple packs of tubes. Blue/white and black/chart. would be a good start. Then just fish them off the dock.

Hi guys. I've been reading quite a bit here. I started tying my own jigs. The wife wanted artificial bait, so I started a new hobby. I also whittled a lure out of a pecan limb. Actually, it didn't take much whittling, but I had a crackerjack time with it. I'm a little bit west of Fort Worth. Here are a few pictures.
