That's a pretty lake for sure, nice water.
So close to me, and I've only fished it once. A dang shame.
I have to ask. Did you see any PWC's? Hope to fish it in the future out of a yak.
It is a pretty place. I fished it once 2 years ago. I too only caught one. I have been wanting to go back.
During the week, you'll just about be by yourself. I saw only 2 boats that day. Never any PWC's. On the weekends, there are still not many boats. I usually do ok over there. This year, I only had one decent trip. but I know a guy that goes often, and he catches every time. In fact, I saw his truck that morning, but did not run into him on the lake. I'm sure he caught. He 's just got the right touch.
Where does one put in? Bennett's bay?
You can put in there, but I don't know how to get to that launch. That's on the Glenmora side. I come from mamou, so I launch at Clarks Landing which is North Turkey Creek . If your coming from Alexandria on I49, take the turkey Creek exit which is 167. Go South toward turkey Creek. go about 5 miles, you'll see a cell tower. Turn right. Go down about 1 or 2 miles to Clarks Landing road. It will be the 2nd road to your right. the road dead ends at the landing. $5 launch fee honor system.
Thanks. My dad used to take me to the weir, but we never caught anything there.
