Four months and I'm still waiting on the 300 dollar refund from Lowrance for the HDS8 bundle I bought late winter.... I got the refund for my trolling motor within a month and I sent them in at the same time... Boy, what a way to do business.

Have you called the rebate center?
Track your rebate

It says at the rebate site that they did not receive my rebate or it hasn't been typed in yet.... I figured it would be like pulling teeth to get that $300 back out of them. I'm not happy and will be posting this bad experience on all the fishing forums I belong to if this isn't dealt with by them. I sent everything in exactly as described to do. I had a bad experience with a trolling motor and one of the company executives saw my post on here and I got a reply by that evening of my initial post. I doubt Lowrance really cares though. They make it difficult to get the rebates hoping people will just forget about it.
Have you contacted Lowrance? I've had two rebates from Lowrance and haven't had any issues.
Took a few months but I got mine.
I have always thought rebates were a " shady business " practice. They make it much more difficult ( red tape ) than need be. As previously stated they are actually hoping the consumer does not bother with it.
Common sense would tell anyone if the companies selling anything. Would hold a true sale it would be more productive. In that if a 2K item was available for 1800 for a specified time 30-60 days. Then it would be a simple straight forward deal to consumer.
Manufacturers of computer parts were infamous for this. I remember fighting with several different companies over their rebate promises. Though everything was done as prescribed on my part they tried to invent ways to not pay. I learned not to factor in the rebate when giving a customer quote.
Regardless of how attractive some rebates seem to be I avoid them with a passion. Evidently they do work as they continue to be popular. But this old boy is not playing their game anymore.
Still waiting for mine too.
I'm in the same boat and same unit. It's funny how we spend so fast but get return so slow. They are trying to figure out away not to send it, i wish i could charge them intrest on the return.
O.K. well I actually got it..... It was sitting in a pile of unopened mail I found it today..... Whoops, but still it took them 3 months.
Smooth move Jimmy. ROFL. Maybe after you posted about your bad experience on every site you belong to, they snuck it into your house and hid it in your pile of bills.
Perhaps if a bunch of folks that had not recieved their rebates got together in front of a BP store and called a news conference to draw attention to the way this rebate is being handled someone would have to start fixing the problem. Just my :twocents
I don't see any problem. It says right on the rebate form it could take 8-10 weeks to receive it.
Glad you found it. I received mine for the HDS-8 bundle in the time window stated.
Got mine yesterday, I had sent it in on 4/3/14.
I sent mine in for the HDS 8 certified, return receipt. I don't always trust the rebate programs completely.
to track you rebate you need to go to rebatepromotions.com | A quick and easy way to check on your rebates., enter on the number of your street address, not the name of the street, your last name and zip code and offer # 30073.
Just talked with them and mine was approved 2 weeks after i sent in, still will take another 8 weeks to get it.
Ok this is what I figure what happens once you rebate is approved. Its going to take 8 weeks for you to get it. The company is going to place your money along with the money of others in to a Savings account set up to process rebates. Now deduct say 6 days for the printing of your check getting it in the mail and your recieving it. So now the money was in this account for 50 days times the numberof rebates process. It isn't hard to see that they make money off of holding your rebate as long as posssible.
On the 13th mine will have been "approved " for 2 months
That's exactly what happens. If you look hard you will find that most of these companies use the same clearing house in Arizona to process rebates. Stren and several others use the same one. With interest rates as low as they are they have to hold the money as long as possible to make any profit. Figure they are collecting thousands of rebates a month and turning the money every 3 months.
They also know that a good percentage of folks will never send in the rebate form so "free money" to them. Not me, I send them all in, but I wish they would just discount the price and not make us jump through hoops to get the discount.
I got 2 refunds today. Ordered in February. Spent most of it at Grizzly's this AM.
Mine arrived today. Now I can get my new chainsaw.
