Submersible light

I bought this submersible light at BPS and was wondering what the rectangle box is on the power cord. My first thought is a power inverter but maybe someone knows for sure. Attachment 165183

What he said ^. That is pretty much what it has to be. Very common on electronics anymore.

I have one, or i should say had one like that...It died last trip out....For the money it's a good light as it lasted 3 years or so.

Do you use just the one? And drop it next to your boat?

I use 2 of them front and back and drop them next to the boat. The cord is long enough if a guy wanted to get a shepards hook or something and extend it out that would be an option. I thought of doing that but figured it's just more crap in the boat not really needed.

I'm just beginning the night fishing under the lights. I have a friend who's been doing in on Truman for years with a lot of success. I'm going to try one to start with but I can definitely see where you'd want two.

We actually wished we had one last weekend on Longview. We were catching crappies pretty good (all were small). As soon as the sun went down the bites quit. Would have liked to have had a light to try.

The light was only 18.99 too, I know I've wasted a lot more than that on dumber things. I have a green light mounted on the bottom of an old cooler lid I've tried at Table Rock with no success. Maybe with the submersible and the floating light together it could be different. Guess we'll find out soon.

I've been having good luck with the green lights I made some led ones I drop one off the center about two foot deep and I have one on each end of the boat to see my poles. The night bite is nice less boat traffic. The bridge pillers have been good to me good luck

I have a BPS light just like that and they work pretty good. I now use the alumiglo from fishinglightsetc.com. They are very durable and bright as the sun.

Do not have a battery charger hooked up to the battery while using that light.
I blew one of those doing that. I didn't want the battery to discharge while I was using it so I plugged in the onboard charger. Pooof.
