thanks guys, 12ft Rear Seat ?????
Rear seats are awesome. Never used the SS but hear it is great. I always use the bucks ultra light but am looking to switch due to extremely fragile tips
ok ordered Sam Heaton SS (super sensitive)
that is the pole i was using the day that we fished beside each other i sent joel a pic of the reel i use yesterday
Sam heatons are good just buy extra tips, ask Slabin.I prefer the crappiemaxx you cannot break these rods.I probably own 10 of them, they are a little heavy but they can be used for anything.
Buy extra tips I single pole fish a lot and im rough on stuff I have broken 2 tips on them Sam Heaton . Now I dont baby my stuff I use it thats what I bought it for
How can they be that good if the tips keep breaking?
Lots of good rods to pick from. I have been using bnm custom rear seats for 5 or 6 years and like them better than anything I have tried. The bnm ultra light tip sux. We went thru a half a dozen in a week last year. My only complaint with Sam heaton is the eyes toward the end of the tip. They are a little smaller than what I like. As a beginner u will enjoy any of the rods mentioned though.
I have a Sam' SS. To me is too limber, not enough back bone. My main poles are Wally Marshall. One is a yellow slider that let's you move the reel forward or back. The other is a plain Wally. Both 11'. Get a cheap BnM plastic reel and your set. 30# spider wire
Feel the thomp
Sam Heaton rear seat ss. No doubt, I haven't had an issue with the tip breaking, very strong, lots of backbone, but still sensitive and lightweight. I like the 11' when by myself and the 12' when fishing from the back of the boat with a buddy. I would pair it with the new Walley Marshall Solo reel. Best combo available in my opinion.
just the old B&M ultra light in a 12 foot with a cork handle is a really good pole if you can find one
I am partial to the b&m brushcutter.. However since I bought mine I think the only way to get one now is in camo.. Which I hate. It has a stronger tip and more backbone than the Sam Heaton and to me is just as light and easy to use all day. I don't use a spinning real for straight jigging makes the rod to butt heavy. I like the red round crappie reels filled with 12 lb trileene ultra.
Ok folks, got my Sam Heaton Super Sensitive 12 foot rod Thursday and use it for first time this morning. Had it fixed with ultra light spinning reel and 4 lb test, hooked a crappie first thing this morning started up with it and got it to top of water and was bout a pound fish, Sam Heaton rod exploded right below where the sections fit together and before I got it on boat the rod came completely apart :( it wasn't the tip part that broke bit the reel Base part, that really sucked, hope that I can get it replaced since it was only a day old :(
Call Jack Wells at BnM in West Point and tell him what happened....pretty sure they will give you a new rod. I recently retired my 12 ft. Sam Heaton and my 11 ft. Ozark . All I use now for single pole is a BnM 11 ft. Duck Commander double touch jig pole with rear seat and a Mr. Crappie SOLO jig pole reel. I really like it.
I hate to hear that Larry. My buddy from Kentucky Lake landed a 60+ pound flathead with a Sam Heaton rod. He swears by them. Yours might have had a defect or been damaged in shipment . Like "G" said. Give BnM a call. I bet they make it right.Attachment 165481
I like the way the 10 footers balance4 with the zebco t11. 12 footers feel out of whack to me and quite cumbersome. however I fish on smaller oxbows and fish sitting in a jon boat.
BassPro is gonna make up the Sam Heaton, G and Eagle1 got me to wanting a Duck Commander Double Touch, so I ordered one this morning :) looks good and hope it handles as good as G tells me it does :)
I like the sam Heaton that I have
I sure like mine....its black with some green on it. Have no idea what the brand is cause the sticker wore off, but till it quits workin I ain't gonna fix it.
I realy like both of mine.
