Sat. at Fishing Creek

As we met at the ramp the breeze was a bit more than I wanted. And it stayed that way ! Anyhow we got on the water round 8:00 for a night of fishin fun. Had BigDawgg and Freddie , then SS.Minnow 27 with Jamie and Dalton aboard. Rick or RSW as he is known drove all the way from Anderson to take on the slabs over here. I had my 14 year old neighbor Dillon aboard. Dillon has never been on a nitestalk or caught a crappie. He cant say either one now.We set out to different parts of the lake to track em down. My boat anchored up in 24 fow and tried to catch a few. Did I mention the breeze was a little stiff ? Tightline minnow from bottom to about 10 ft. Wasnt long and my partner had his first crappie of the night. A solid 10 in. fish. We tried to hang on and mamaged 9 more before we called BigDawgg to see how his night was going. They had around 20 or so and were out of the breeze. It was a bit breezy where we were. Much as I hate to do it we hauled up anchors and made the move. Rsw had moved in with us so he came along also. Now all 4 boats were in 28 - 32 fow. Bait so thick around the lights you could walk on em. We set up and caught 4 more before time ran out. Dillon hooked a small striper that wanted his line more than we did. 4 lb. wont stop a striper very often. But fun to see him light up when the line started leaving the reel. At the ramp the jawing and yakin was on. SS. Minnow claimed he had the 3 lb. one he was lookin for. Ron said thats what he used as bait to catch his bigguns. Dillon just said I got some big ones in here. Dont remember the weights for the five biggest. 7 LB. and something. Next was 6 lb 7 oz. I think. My boat was 6 lb 4 oz. Now those BIG 3 LB fish. Biggest was 1 lb. 12 oz. SS.Minnow took top honors. 1 LB. 11 OZ from Freddie. And 1lb 10 oz from Dillon. That is close.And RSW , Well he had a good time and long ride ahead of him. He did manage not to be skunked with one fish at ....well is was legal size anyway. But he was a trooper and tried all night. Just couldnt get the fish to come his way. But that is fishin. Rick , Thanks for comin over. Hope this dont turn you against night fishin. You get one up over your way and we will be there.We had a blast and caught a few. Even with the breezy conditions. Will be doing it again soon.Think it is time for a new camera. Some pics are o.k. Then fuzzy again. But we tried. May have been the breeze. Good report from the nightstalk. Good to hear some good fish was caught. A lot of fun fishing as a group of boats when the jawing starts :) Congrats to all that were able to make it and thanks for the report and pics.

We had 26 crappies and a lot of missed fish plus some throw backs. I do believe Frankie's best five were at 8.17 oz. like he called it. Thanks to all you guys new and old we had a dang good time. Rick, I hope your trip home was safe and uneventful. John has said it all it was a good night out. We did have a lot of bait, to much competition for our minnows. We need to do this again soon. John, what's next????:biggrin

Whenever someone calls it I am ready. Think we shoulda had some of the Blue Minners though ! And sorry bout the wrong weights. Told ya I would forget it. The breeze blew it out of my head.

John, you can make blue minnows at home. Just put some blue food coloring on a rag and keep wiping it on your minnows and release them back into your tank after it has dried on their scales. You are experiencing CRS not the breeze my good fellow.:Rofl

Sounds and looks like a good time was had by all, congrats to the winners, and to all that participated.

Thanks guys for a great time last night. Although my luck was sparse, I did pick up on some pointers that will help me out here on my home lakes. The fellowship and chance to meet some of of the members made the trip worth while. It great to feel so welcome, I couldn't ask for a better group of guys to hangout with and wet some hooks!

Sorry I could not make it. Too many last minute things came up, but I still have it on my bucket list. Sounds like all had a good time.
