I'm from pa n today is the full moon. I was looking forward this weekend to fishing beds but we got blow out by bad storm past 2 days n another coming today. Idk how fishing will be now this weekend
Smoltz...don't think they're done yet, water temp still below 70'. Am also fishing port bay (off lake Ontario) the gills are just starting to get on beds
We call 'em "Teenage Mutant Ninja Sunfish". Oneida Lake is the only place I've ever caught a pumkinseed even close to this big. We don't get them in the shallows like I'm used to either. We get them dragging worm harnesses out mid-lake or around the islands in 15 -30 FOW. We caught probably 20 yesterday while walleye fishing - and they have nice meaty fillets.
The ones we got yesterday were full of eggs, so gonna say they're not spawning yet.
