I know its short notice but I'm headed to brushy Thursday. The plan as of now is RBeav is meeting us there it would be really cool to get another member up there also. I know there are more members on here so let's get this board moving!

Yes that would be awesome to get something started with the Iowa group looking forward to it
I've been trying to get things going with this board for two years now. Just not enough people on here yet. There are a few but they evidently don't check in on a regular basis. Idk
Sent you a P.m.

Had a Great day on Brushy today with toofuss thanks again
Nice batch of fish! I would like to report more on here as well. Have had a pretty good spring so far, but I am on the side lines right now with a hip replacement on the 21st. I'll be back out soon I hope. Have to live by your reports for the time being.
Where are you located chasincrappie? I'm in des Moines.
Davenport area. Fish a lot of the smaller area lakes, Iowa, Geode, Big Hollow, farm ponds, etc. Unfortunately, nothing for awhile.
Right on. Too bad coralville should be on fire
All the fish pictures in this thread were of fish caught from brushy creek lake. Near Ft Dodge Iowa.
I was hoping you would say that.
I just retired last week and Brushy is only about 20 miles from me.
My wife and I plan to fish Brushy, and Cornelia most of the time, with an occasional trip to Storm or Clear Lake. I haven't seen a bunch of Crappie out of Brushy like that for quite a while.
We used to fish there fairly often, then work got in the way, so I remedied that. :biggrin
Congratulations, that is a nice catch.
I live in des Moines so I don't get up there as much as I'd like. We ice fish it quite a bit if your into that your welcome to come along. There is also a small electric only lake in Kennedy park on the north edge of ft dodge. We caught some really good fish out of it as well. You just have to do more sorting. If you ever want to come down this way for a day I've got a seat in my boat always open for a c.c member.
Thanks for the information and the invites, I will keep it in mind.
I have been out to Kennedy, and looked at the ramp, I wasn't sure I could get get the trailer in and out there.
Briggs woods just south of Webster City used to be a good electric only lake too.
I will be working on figuring out Brushy though.
Which end of Brushy do you usually fish? We have usually fished the southern half, as we are more acquainted with it and know where not to take the boat. It can get expensive fishing that lake. :banghead I had a brand new prop last a total of about 10 minutes trying to get through the North end.
I can put my 17 foot v bottom tracker in at Kennedy no problem. I normally put in at the north ramp and work south from there. And I hear you on the props. That lake has cost me two in 3 years plus about 4 repairs at $60 a shot. I've got an old junker I save just for that lake lol.
Briggs woods has been pretty lack luster for us the last couple of years ice fishing. Never messed with it open water so I don't know what its been doing. Send me a pm with your number I'll be glad to chew the fat anytime.
Now thats just a nice mess of fish.
I also live in central Iowa and fish all year for crappies. A couple lakes but mostly the reservoirs. Anytime you want to chat give me a shout!!!
I think we need to get our own Iowa Crappie camp together What do you say Toofuss
I'm game. Saylorville or brushy in may?
Sounds good to me lets make this happen
I'll start a thread here shortly. Maybe we could do a fall one yet this year.
Sounds good
Fishing was slow Tuesday, but my wife and I managed 21 nice bluegills.
Still got my prop too. rotfl
