I've been a team member since not long after it started. Even got the t shirt and boat decal. I think Oklahoma has more team "Whippersnappers" than "Geezers."
Team Geezer actually started in 2012 at Okatibbee lake in MS. When "G" and three other geezers camped and fished there for a few days.....They called it the first annual geezer rodeo....from then it escalated to signatures, boat decals, and t shirts. Folks wanted in....now today Team Geezer is nation wide.
What is required for membership? I do have a neck like a turkeys and from behind I look like a frog wearing pants. Do I qualify or is this gonna cost me money? (-;
Attitude is the only requirement (age helps). No $$ involved for membership. Slab used to have the t-shirts but I haven't seen them for awhile. I believe "G" got the decals together once. After Team Geezer became popular "Team Whippersnapper" and even "Tweeners" popped up. I haven't seen much out of them lately - just a fad that didn't have staying power.
CC - Too much information!!!!!! Frog wearing pants????????????????
I think OK. is full of GUBERS
Team Geezer is alive and well
Crappie ciller....I will find out how you become an "Official member of Team Geezer" and reply back to this thread. Rumor has it that Billbob from mid-state Indiana is organizing "Team Guber" and is recruiting in Oklahoma. Having met Billbob at two Arkansas Camps, I can't even start to imagine what the qualifications are.....dave
See "G" above. Team Geezer is alive and well. Dunno about the Whippersnappers.
If you think your a geezer then you probably are......no special requirements. Most geezers are older guys or retired....some are not retired.
I think I'm a geezer, therefore I am a GEEZER? Billbob sign me up.:cheers2
so if the guys are called geezers what would the older women who love fishing be called??? weezers?:fish :dono
Geezerettes lol
I'm far off from being a geezer but could be a gueber.
I'm retired. Does that make a geezer?
My wife keeps telling me to quit acting like a two year old at times, so will that take me into another classification?
I am not retired, pretty sure I am a geezer though!
If you guys think your a geezer and you want on the team.....just put it up in your signature line
Remember the next step past geezer is old fart :D
Merle has it right he is a Guber. Sign him up Billy......Ranger
Merle, I thought I was too until I realized I've been misspelling goober for many years so now I'm worried that I went straight to Old Fart without even realizing it- which is I guess the prime indicator. You probably have joined me here and everyone is too polite to inform you.
Crappie ciller...its official .....if you think you are a Geezer...then you are one...welcome to Team Geezer. You can now go and edit your signature to "Proud Member of TEAM GEEZER" .....Congratulations!!!!!.......dave
Uh oh, I am older than both of you.
If it has to do with attitude, age, good looks then I am qualified. Just Sayin......Ranger
but Merle your still a GUBER
It's possible I may have too much Guber in me to figure out how to edit my signature line. If I could do that dontcha think I would post some pictures now and then? Once my grand kids are a little older maybe they can teach me. (-; OK I'll give it a shot but I think it will mean amen to Dinkmaster George.
CCiller I have been patiently waiting a thread from your new home with pics!! Now I understand why it hasn't appeared!!
I'm sure most of you Old Geezer member think I'm a member of the Whippersnapper club, but my grandkids think I'm an Old Geezer :biggrin.
I'll settle for that and being a member of the Oklahoma Gubers! For now......
If defective and decrepit are qualifiers, then I'm in. Although my wife has called me Mr. Defective and Decrepit for many, many years. Walking the riprap is a real challenge now, but a pull on the pole is still a thrill, almost as much fun as taking grandkids and greatgrandkids fishing.
