What brings you to these parts? Where in Ga? I fished all over that state. Still miss West Point and Oconee.
Had to check the atlas to find out where Alvaton was. Welcome to KY. Spent 6 years in Conyers, GA in late 70s/early80s. Can't help you much with fishing until you get over here on the big lakes.
Over here you need to be on the lookout for a big purple ProCraft. Watch out for Mason jars.
I was about 12 mi west of Conyers in Locust Grove.Jackson was home lake.Moved up to frozen north to get closer to grand kids and outlaws. Can I still chear for Jackets and Dawgs here???
Fished Jackson a bunch. You know any Cannon folks down there? You can still cheer for those teams but nobody will take you seriously. I still like the Dawgs. Watched SEC Storied about Hershel last night. I was a huge Dawgs fan in those days. Still remember Larry Munson saying "Hunker down you hairy Dawgs!"
Welcome to KY :welcome
Looks like you picked a pretty good spot, with Barren & Nolin in your "backyard" .... and Green, Cumberland, Dale Hollow, and KY/Barkley lakes a couple hours drive (or less) away.
You're on BadBrad's turf, so I'd get friendly with him :ThumbsUp The former KY State Trooper & current member of the KDFWR is a great guy to know and fish with !!
... cp :kewl
Any body who heard Larrys voice will NEVER forget that sound.
Thanks for the kind intro pap. Catch fillet, your just down the road from me, I live here in BG. Welcome to the neighborhood and the Bluegrass state. Barren River lake is close and you can wet your appetite for crappie fishing there anytime, but for big slabs, it's worth the 2hour drive west to the big lakes. I'll be happy to talk fishing with you anytime. Of all the other SEC foe, I've always liked The Dawgs.
Thanks for invite, will take you up on invite soon.
Welcome from the Northern part of the state.
West Ky sez hay ya'll...
Rickie
You head down this way, give me a shout.
Welcome catch! I live on the north side of Bowling Green near the Corvette Museum and am always willing to show you a few spots on Barren. I agree with Brad, that Kentucky Lake holds whoppers that are worth the two hour drive but Barren won't disappoint ya as close to the lake as you are. Any time ya get the itch an want ta give it a shot, PM me and we'll make plans.
.
Welcome to BIG BLUE NATION!!!
Welcome to KY! I think you will like barren. I try to make it there weekly if possible. I'm right in between Barren and Nolin but I haven't fished Nolin enough to know anything about it. If you have any questions give me a shout
Thx,will get with you after I am settled.
Welcome From Louisville. Lots of good people here. You'll get settled in quickly I am sure.
