If you woulda kept those scales in your box where they belong, that would have been a 3+. Probably close to a 4. If a bass fisherman would have caught it, the fish would have been a new state record. Awesome fish no matter what those scales said.

That is a good one , most of us still searching for the one over 3 lbs. Biggest I've caught in years was only 2 lb 13 oz so don't feel too bad.
Could have been the scales! !!! A lot of the hand held scales varies 1-3ozs!!!
I threw back several in the 2 lb range. This is the only one I kept because I thought it might make 3lbs. I took it to the bait shop and it was just a little shy. Its in my freezer. It will probably go on the wall anyway.Quote:
