Greenleaf lake
Fished in the rain yesterday below Greenleaf. Caught a few crappie before the front shut them off. Lots of white bass and LG bass in the mix. Best fish was 1.78 Lb. Water temp was 77 to start 74 after it rained hard for an hour or so. Spawn was pretty much over with those temps I think. I caught fish on the channel 12 feet deep in 30 FOW around shad schools. Nice Fishers!! There's some good structure around there!!

You got that right Redge. Somebody has been cutting trees along the shoreline and on the rap, pushing them into the water. Makes great cover. Also the channel out to the river is loaded. Next year I will hit it early. I was surprised by the high water temps. May be worth a shot in the winter too with the very distinct channel running through flats.

In the 1940's, German Prisoners of War were worked in that park building cabins, walk-ways, and picnic areas. Maybe they cut the trees along the shoreline........ Called them Crappie Krauts.

Fished below Greenleaf and out in the Nav channel yesterday. Did best out in the channel. Tough day, caught about 7 good fish. Water was 76 to start 81, late afternoon. Did best at the very end of the day fishing live shad in wood 15-17 FOW. Caught some nice LB and sand bass on the shad too. Attachment 168692

Green Carp are polluting our waters.....Ranger

I've heard that if you wrap those things in crappie fillets and roll em in corn meal they are tasty as long as you discard the middle part.
