5-11 outa longwood

put in @ longwood bout 12:30 - went across to panhandle fished till 4:00- only 2 crappies- bunch bream, little bass - came back across lake worked from hwy 15 bridge back into grassy- finally hit 1 tree top back past double islands bout 7:00 & caught 8 more crappies- 10 crappies total but all keepers - 1 @ 13" rest 10-12 "- caught ton of other fish - 1 cove back in grassy bet caught 25-30 little bass - bout a pound apiece- fun stuff on that crappie rig! water still clear & green but really warmed up 74-82 degrees - and down bout a foot or so from last sunday- fun day hunting the shallows- not real productive- probably should of worked on my trolling but just wanted to relax & fish -

All fish had little immature eggs - no where near ready to squirt em???????

Great day for you. We had to leave Saturday for the trip home. But my son beat hem up friday.

saw that on genes thread- sounds like ya'll had a blast- fishing = good times!

Nice to meet you Sunday, always ask people if they need help, only fished brushpiles that day ,done well , 12 too 16 fow , fish on all 7 b.p. I fished ,nothing over 1lb 4ozs, with about 45 all total for the day, hope too get back soon , if you like too b.p. fish shoot me a p.m. they should really turn on any time now, Ilike fishing main lake b.p. from Buffalo too Island Creek. GOOD FISHING

hey man nice meeting ya'll too! my fishing always been jigging shallows & when they leave the shallows id go to catfishing- but that limits me to about 6 weeks of getting em +/- so im trying to expand my horizons - been trying trolling some this spring with little success but gota keep trying that's how you learn- I guess I need to spend a day on the lake not fishing & just hunting for the deeper brush piles- done that a few times but always get bored & quit & then go to catfishing- I don't know but a handful of deep brush piles- where ya'll using minnows or jigs? hope to see ya there again- sounds like ya'll had an outstanding day !!

jigs only, lot of good crappie fishing on main lake b.p coming up,will show you all the b.p.you want ,just need too meet at lake one Sat.they will stay on these b.p.until the water cools this fall.

next weekend or so i'll take you up on that! i'll pm you when I see for sure going but I try to go at least 1 trip a week it aint but an hour away from me- Thanks !! I know I wont be there this sat- last day turkey season

Please show me some bp to slsbin, Im in the same situation as hunter, after the crappie leave the shallows I cannot catch a single one, but whereas hunter starts catfishing I just stop fishing altogether because I cant catch any crappie :) Best of luck in the future, tkae care my friends and tight lines.

You have a valid point hunter, do you put out noodles for the catfish, or do you catch them on a rod? Ive only fished for cats from the bank, at night while camping, just wondered what technique you used, good luck when the water comes back down, Ill try to get to the lake sometime in the next week or so, take care.

I mainly tight line bottom fish- although last few years I've got into some drift fishing - it's all fun stuff & you never know just yesterday a 109 lb blue was caught @ buggs- that makes 2 over a 100 & 3-4 I know of in 75-80 lb range this spring- there 's some real hogs out there!

I ment to say 70-90 lb range- all big fish anyway you look @ it!!!

Slsbin,i went to you profiles and notice you are a carpenter,my dad was a carpenter and so us 3 boys did a lot of that work also,love it,built many houses from ground up,as i got older got different job and build them on side,a few years ago that work got tough, hope your wrk is doing good,i see in summer you love main river around clarksville,that is a good after spawn area,keep us inform on your summer fishing,looks like a while before i go,good fishing
