I have owned many boats over the years , and have shared many fishing trips with friends over the years .
What I have come to realize is , everyone is your friend when you have a boat , but you realize who your true friends are when you don't own a boat any longer .
Hope to never realize this, I share my rig with lots of folks and in turn share theirs from time to time.
I will never be without a boat. Mines paid for and don't cost a thing if I need to let it sit if I'm broke
Same goes for a pick up truck.
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
True friends are hard to find.
Scott . I would be glad to take you out But I have not been out this year because looking after Joyce, Now that being said if you would like to come by and take my boat you can !!!!!!

Funny you say that I know a guy that when I asked man you like to fish so much why don't you get a boat he said why all my friends have one. Last time I called him to go fishing
I actually had a guy at work ask me when I was going to buy another boat to take him fishing . I asked him the same question you did and got a similar reply . Got another guy on a hunting lease , took him fishing and showed him some good spots . I don't expect anything in return , but It is nice to get an invite once in a while as a gesture of appreciation .Quote:

Yeah it sucks without a boat. I never had a boat until recently and have been trying for 10 weeks to get motor for it. I know several people with boats but trying to get them to go fishing can be a challenge. Seems they are always going when I can't but can't when I want too.
Same goes for drinking buddys.I gave up drinking 26 years ago.Been dry since and my (friends) quickly faded into the sunset

TnRidge you got a seat with me anytime you need it at Truman if we can make it work out. I may be one of the lucky ones I guess because I have heard stories just like others here have talked about. But I never expect anything in return for taking people out so kind of hard to feel bad when they don't offer. I am going anyway so don't mind taking someone along from time to time. I have had guys offer cash, beer or lunch for taking them out. I have traded out trips with many members on here in the past. We will take my rig one time and theirs the next. So fuel cost equal out in the end. Dr. Fish, bwillaub , DoubleD and others have always been good about it. I went about 3 weeks with out a boat several years ago after selling one faster than I expected and then could not find one to replace it with. Actually had several guys from this site call and offer rides with them during that time. Pretty cool to have buddies like that on here.

Never had a problem with any if the guys on this forum . I have made some life long friends on here who I trust . There are just some folks I have met away from this forum that have used me . There is a difference .
I have never asked for anything in return for taking someone out fishing or help someone in need and never will . That's not my point .
I have been through a lot , and I appreciate those who have reached out .
