I want to post sonar quizzes but need the crappie.com permit.
How do I get one?
I could call mine " Sonar image inquiries"
So as not to infringe on others.

I'm not sure but that would be great being that you have a lowrance
Go to it and we'll see where it goes.
Does this mean I've been granted a temporary permit?
Permit .... what permit ?? We don't need no steenkin permit :Rofl
As long as you're following site rules and patent/intellectual property laws ... I'd say you're good to go. But I do think using a different title is a good idea, so as not to conflict or be confused with other "quiz" threads.
... cp :kewl
Well legs get started they are a great learning tool and we need one for lowrance users
Let the quizzes begin
Ok
It is fun.
Here or a new thread?
Ok I have a few pics but I'll let Brett start one since it's his idea for the Lowrance quiz.
Yes, start a new thread
I think he is too worried about chirp to even catch a breathe right now
I got chirp fever, and the only cure is pricey!
I think the guys at THT have you the best advice possible from guys that actually know about CHIRP and it's benefits...
http://www.thehulltruth.com/marine-e...-confused.html
And their advice is straight forward...if you decide to invest in the CHIRP xducer (close to $1400 just for the 175W CHIRP xducer)...you might see a negligible improvement at your target fishing depths...
http://www.boemarine.com/categories/...ers/chirp.html
No one has the TM150 CHIRP xducer yet that I've seen to test it for performace ...
The jury is still out on CHIRP imaging...(like Garmin is claiming)...because very few have any experience with it yet...

That's why I'm contemplating 2 actions.
1. Sell the 9 Touch, get my money out of it, buy a Garmin 840xs or 741, Units made for chirp, with 2 yr warranty.
Or
2. Get the lowrance sonarhub and add it to the 9 Touch
Moving to new Garmin is cheaper than trying to upgrade the Touch, with the selling of the Touch factored in.
I've seen pics from a Garmin owner, the downvu pics are stunning.
Likely worth all this effort
Brett, I finally got someone to talk about their Garmin. He said the shallow SI was on par with Lowrances, he said it was real good up & clear up close but then got blurry past 60' or so. I asked if it was better than Lowrance overall and he said it was about the same. He didn't comment on the DI.
Wow,
Do you know what unit he has?
With chirp?
Thanks
I agree, Fishton lays it out there.
Garmin may have hit a home run this time, only time will tell. In the past I think they fouled out.
I'm not sure if one could call Fishton's initial opinion a home run...
Here's the quote...:

And the "washboard effect" is evident in the Garmin SideVu ...I guess we just cannot cheat wave theory...
Rickie
I guess I should have asked Fishton to post a pic from his HDS and a pic from the Garmin of the exact same structure? I hate bugging him though so why don't one of you fellas ask him to do so, lol.:biggrin
Is it me, or are we still WAY short of seeing what the new Garmins chirp can do. Especially downvu
