I'm headed over there May 16th-18th. I am going to try and fish for Bream and shell cracker. Does anyone have a report on them. Also are the specs still in shallow water. I went the April 26th and caught them from 6 -15 ft of water.

I'm going tomorrow until end of week. May be a little early and the river is still high but dropping. Plan to fish crappie, bream and shellcrackers, depending on the bite Will not have Internet access from the LTL so can't give a report until Saturday.
Crappie are in shallow water and the bite is GOOD. Some bream being caught. Water is good shape.
Thanks just let me know what ya find out. Did any of the specs have eggs in them still or have they all laid out.
99% have laied
Most do not have eggs. We did catch few in pads with hair jig that still had eggs. Most fish in the pads are males.
Great, I will be there this afternoon and start looking for a few. Thanks for the update.
will be there this saturday for four days. first time there, what places would be good to check out this time of year? thanks, staying at ltl
Bell lake is good and around the corner at Lakeview point
Are you fishing or just guiding?:biggrin
Just back home from 4 days at Talquin. Buddy and I got 14 in Bell Lake on Friday morning. Several boats there taking a few but the house was not on fire. For a diversion in the afternoon we trailered around to Coe Landing and explored up the Ocholockonee River a couple of miles just looking. Beautiful river. Here are a few photos of the river.

Talked to several bream/shellcracker guys who did only fair. Some were there last year this time and said the bite must be late this year. Full moon this week so could be better.
Great Pictures.....there is more to fishing than catching fish.
Great job, thanks for sharing. I am going to make that trip this fall.
Nice pics. If I can't find the specs or bream I'm going to try some catfish. I got to find the bell lake.
drucker1....this should help you.
Thanks this helps
Very nice pics of the river :ThumbsUp
