We fished about the same times. We had 13 crappie some male and some female just busting with eggs. Bite was slow but we just kept working at it.
9 & 1 kitty. In ten hrs with jig pole.
Filled a cooler of males. Had 25.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/05/hape9ugu.jpg
We fished Friday and it was bad slow. We had 2 crappie, 2 drum and 1 cat. The lake was really up and muddy in spots.
Fished from 9 till 130 and caught 1 drum and 1 carp.
Guess we missed the honey hole... Oh well, you have your good days along with the bad. Plan to try again sometime this week.
I don't think it's about the "honey hole", it's more just being in the right time and the right place. The fish are spawning and they get to acting real funny when those females start laying eggs. The males are busy trying to get the female to the nest and then attending her trying to get her to lay the eggs. I had several males that just picked the jig up and would move it. The fishing will get better, just be patient.
Anybody catch any bream to speak of???
Had a couple next to me got on a little hot spot...caught 6 in 30 min. Around 5 pm. Saturday afternoon. They was doing some awful hollering. She kinda got excited to say the least. Don't guess they caught a fish all day or I would've heard her before that
We fished the big fish tourney at BlueBank on Saturday, trolled 7 hrs in muddy water looking for 1 big female, caught 4 fish, if my partner wouldn't of had to work maybe 8, my wife hates to troll and is easily distracted!
Fish 2 day have caught 3 bream that together wouldn't cover your hand and can u say windy
I'm here till Thursday and the wind is only getting worse
But my my it sure is perdy here
We will be heading over Friday. All those who have not caught fish, please post coordinates so I won't fish there.:biggrin That's almost as good as getting coordinates where they are lighting it up. Excited about our first trip there. All who are local be sure and say howdy fast. We have a 3 day license and won't be fishing but two of those.
It sure has been a strange spring and a tough bite over here as well.
Wind has been a beast the last week or so, 20mph for wed and thur then thunder storms for fri and sat cant win for losing...
BigD, I wouldn't know how to fish if the wind was not blowing or it wasn't raining! :biggrin
Ark know that's right... Most of the guys that come down to fish the foot have to deal with the elements while they are here their allotted time. Just have to deal with what mother nature hands you whether it be wind or rain. I feel fortunate only living 30 miles away, I can pick and choose my days. Lately haven't been many days to choose from as I don't like to fight the wind.
I live about 40 miles away. I just go on and fish with or without the wind. If I run the batteries down, it's time to go home.
This has been a strange bite this year. I'm hoping after they spawn the pad bite will get good. I like to catch 'em out of the pads!
I used to fish Reelfoot a lot many years ago. I have found some good places and caught a lot of fish trying to get out of the wind. lol.
