How is the bite? Have we passed the "peak of spawn"? I'm curious if anyone tried jigs in the timber in Billy's Creek? How about the flats that lead into Long Branch? Timber at Water Valley"? How deep were you fishing? Not looking for your honey hole or anything but any information is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
i fished there friday, but i was trolling. caught a few but nothing to brea about.
Deroc I was afraid of that. What was the water temp? Did you see a lot of polers working the trees?

wasn't many people jig fishing but the wind was pretty stout until about 2:00. there were a few fishing at longbranch when i left.
Water temp was low 70's in Bew, Hubbard, and at Persimmon..... Saturday at 10am, there was plenty of parking available at all lower lake landings. Only 4 boats at McCurdy ramp when I left at 2 pm. Talked to a few fishermen, nobody I spoke to had more than a few fish. I caught two in 4 hours......

I dont know what happened. Limited out last saturday in the coffee grass. Thursday I caught 4. Could not find them. This has been a bad year for me. Feel bad for my 10 year old. He has been sucking it up and getting up at 4 but not reaping the rewards. He just needs that banner day. I guess thats why they call it fishing and not catching
with this rain--it's gonna be a tough one me thinks.

I Fished Wednesday thru Saturday jig fished only. Fished every creek but dew. Water temps started out in the morning about 68 and warmed to around 74. Caught 10,15,4,4, each day. Fished 2 to 12 foot. Best depth was 3 to 5 foot. Talked to others that found most of their fish in 3 to 5 also.
With all this rain all that will be changed!
I limited out the last 2 day at CLear Branch.....Or was it Coles Creek.....anyway i will pm you :biggrin

I've been bank fishing a spot near Wallace Creek campground for about a month. I have managed to catch a few there every time. Last time I went was a week ago. The only thing biting were catfish, and I saw a gar fish w/baby swimming up the creek. Also, the last time I caught fish there (most have been females), the eggs were pale. I guess now I know why.
Trolling has been slow for me all year. The single pole folks were doing pretty good until Friday. I trolled from daylight until about 3:00 for four days. Caught 16-9-6-16. Never found any concentration. Just picked up 1 here and there. Never caught 2 close together. Had two different people stop by while I was cleaning fish the last day and said they had been doing pretty good single pole fishing but they're fish were gone. One of them had caught 2, the other one hadn't caught a fish. I hope i'm wrong but the spawn may be about done at Enid. My wife caught one 15 1/4" that only weighed 1.6 lbs. Only caught one that was still bulging. Some of the eggs in the other ones are starting to get a gray color to them (white crappie).
We have had an inch when I left the house but its coming a flood in Grenada County and sirens going off, huddled up in Wally World!!
Get out of there, Rees. The weather's getting bad there, and those big box stores are no place to be if there's a tornado.
yup, they got those red tornado warning blocks on the NWS site down around grenada and winona. looks like they are headed towards tupelo...
I am in my storm shelter.....cell containing tornado (not on the ground) supposed to be here in about 15 min
