My son came home with a new 75 qt this weekend. How good are they? My first thought was he's crazy but the more I read about them it seems they will last a lifetime. Hey,they even make a casket! Lol.

Have used them and they are great. Hold ice really well, and can stand on them. Only down side is weight but if you leave it in the boat it's really nice
I've got a 65 that is really good. Not yeti but same design, called an orca. During the summer it will hold ice for about 6-7 days. Really good cooler to have to take camping and fishing and what not. But I do want a smaller one also in case I just want to keep a 12 pack cold, instead of multiple cases for a weekend
Look great, but don't use enough to make it worth buying
I owned one for about three days till it was stolen .Glad it was a gift or it would have really ticked me off .:twocents
Got a big orca one as well, love it.
He got a yeti lock with it that secures it to boat or truck bed. You can get a leak proof divider to hold minnows in one side and fish or drinks on the other.Quote:

Durability is their only attribute. A $35 Coleman xtreme holds ice just as well. The Yeti type are very tough but are prone to thievery.
I would never spend that kind of money on an ice chest I have one but won it in a contest not worth the money if you buying it to hold Ice longer
if it means anything i saw a grizzly bar trying to tear one up on tv and he didn't hardly scratch it up...

Daughter & SIL gave me a 45qt Yeti for Christmas and the first thing I did was to buy the cable lock they make for it. Keeps ice really well. The Orca does look exactly like the Yeti.
Yes love it. Very cold drinks. Very durable. Should last a lifetime.
I agree with Feelay on this. They are super durable and sturdy but I dont believe they do much better than any of my cheap coolers as far as performance. I do really like having mine strapped down on my back deck of my boat and leaving it there.Quote:

Brute is a good one too. Made in the USA and cheaper than Yeti.
Two years ago in Canada archery black bear huntin, a momma bear grabbed one off the porch of one of the cabins and the guy has a 22 minute of hilarious video of her tryin to get it open...slappin it, rollin it, jumpin up and down on it....basically jus actin a fool tryin to get in it. In my world that make them pretty tuff.....and they hold stuff cold forever too. Or warm....question ...how do they know??
For $400 bucks of the price of a Yeti 65, I can buy 10 other coolers. Bears probably wouldn't eat but a few year at best. :) I don't get the need to spend all that money. I guess some of yall have a lot more than I do. I just re-use water bottles and freeze for my ice. They'll last all day long. Not big on buying bags of ice either. Call me cheap if you want.
I have the small yeti and love it. Holds ice better any cooler I have had in that size. Most have no insulation in the lids and i think that may allow them to lose the insulation ability. The bigger ones are too heavy and need wheels. A chore for one person to load by them self.
