New to the Forum

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I'm not new to fishing but still fairly new to lake fishing. I have the attention spam of a child so I fish for panfish most the time. I've been trying to figure out the crappie at Shearon Harris lake here lately with a little increasing success. I've also been told there are quite a few white perch at Shearon Harris but have yet to find any. I'll fish Shearon Harris and Jordan more than anywhere else so if anyone ever want to join me on the water just let me know!

Welcome from Raleigh. I caught some nice perch in the upper end of Buckhorn creek in Harris a couple of years ago. They are there, just hard to get to bite sometimes.

Welcome from Sanford NC. i fish harris alot an the crappie fishing has been darn right bad this year. as for the white perch they are in there but at times are hard to target. two years ago i hit a school an filled a 28 quart cool fill of them.

Welcome from Fuquay Varina, NC. I generally fish Harris but have been going to Jordan because of the lack of crappie. The size of the fish (crappie) on Jordan really blows Harris away. We pounded the perch last year right in the middle of lake in about 30' of water. Good eating and the heads make great catfish bait.

Sounds like I need to change my plans from Harris to Jordan for this weekend. I don't know the lake very well, what depth are the fish at right now? We caught a couple at Harris in the 15-18 fow last weekend.

I've never fished Jordan so I can't really help you out there, But my guess would be to start up in the creeks shallow an work out to deeper water if nothing else.

Last Friday I fished the s curves between Ebenezer ramp and the dam and actually got a few decent ones in 20' of water with minnows. Maybe some of the tourney guys can point you in more productive areas without giving up their honey holes because I would like to know some other places to hit. I fish mainly South of 64 but I plan to head North because I have a gut feeling that's where the most luck is happening.
