Spent a few windy hours on D'Arbonne this afternoon. The lake is almost back down to pool stage and the water has cleared up considerably since last Friday. I only managed 3 rather small ones fishing the 10' flats.

We only caught three in two days. Had to switch over to bream to put something in the freezer.
Do you guys think a man could do some good in some if the creeks n lakes off the ouachita river.
Is it better there at pool stage or when the water is higher. I'm going there for a week at the end of May. I hope we catch some fish when we go. Doesn't matter what kind , just going for family vacation.
Don't know about the Ouachita Lakes but I think that's where I might try next.
I asked that question yesterday, all my answers were no. One very good fisherman went on the river Friday and got zero.
I was wondering what it looked like below the spillway as far as launching a boat...
I was fixing to start fishing off the river, then the rains hit and everything was rising or muddy or both.
I fished about 2.5 hrs yesterday afternoon fighting the wind; hadn't been in 10 days. Caught 6 with 4 keepers in 8-15 fow; water temp was 70-74; I think the spawn is nearly over. I couldn't get anything but bream to hit shallow.
Try deeper water
Dont waste the Gas to go to the spillway. A Friend just stoped by minutes ago and he could not launch at the Spillway.. His Target was Garfish. he fished from the bank a while and said the current would have been to Dangerous.. I havnt seen the river since they opened the gates but Horshoe just north of Monroe could be a good shot. It could be it has no current, Just backwater
Went to Darboone Bayou today and caught zero. fished at Cross Bayou. water is 8' foot higher than normal. Water is not real muddy but didnt find them.
