I want input on these. Is there as many problems with these as the short version? Want one bad but worried about a 2000.00 piece of junk.

What are you hearing about the short version?
My Talon always gets stuck in the mud because I fish in Louisiana but it has never been a problem. I just rock the boat once or twice (not "violently") and it comes loose. I have the 8' original and am looking to put the 12' on the other side for wind control. One advantage of the Talon over the other maker: The Talon can be manually retracted with a wrench if it gets stuck due to loss of power.
I have had mine for 2 months now. No issues so far...knock on wood. It works well and holds quite well in soft bottoms.
One other piece of advice put the remote in hatch or your truck. They can easily blow out the boat if you leave it loose.
Don't ask me how I know!
Much quieter than the 6' and 8' models....

Just got the 12' in the garage last night. Can't wait to get it setup for this spring.
The 12 ft does not come with the quick release tilt bracket
I finally got out on the water with the new talon on the boat. 12 ft talon initial thought. Absolutely awesome working docks pull up hit the button bam you stay. Wanna move down the dock hit the button move five feet bam stop. No sloppy anchor to pull up. Wanna keep you boat in a exact spot. Just leave your trolling motor on at a low speed. Just flat out love it.
Pulled up into the wind hit the remote. Swung around cast fish on. Rerig cast fish on. Cast cast cast no fish move.
